With the traditional Aussie greeting out of the way, I suppose I should just hunker down and do the writing part of this whole shindig. Nice to see Wandjina wasn’t in NPC jail for long at all, though.
The only shame to Wandjina’s design, despite giving the respected spirits of the indigenous Australian people a fat ass, is that she doesn’t progress to a Diggery-Doo on her 3rd ascension after cycling through Koalas and Boomerangs.
Sorry, Koala? I meant drop bear. It’s a vicious blighter, I’ll tell you what.

As an SSR Foreigner, Wandjina has plenty of competition to work through, but somehow, despite not looking like a powerful Servant, she packs arguably the best stat spread of any SSR Foreigner, with the 2nd-highest Attack and the 4th-lowest HP, possessing similar offensive might to Kukulkan with more HP to compensate.
Naturally, she also has a handful of passives to further supplement her base stats. Her Entity of the Outer Realm and Magic Resistance passives provide a huge chunk of passive debuff resistance and a small amount of stars each turn, making her quite the juggernaut capable of pushing through debuffs, while her unique passive, Cradle of Stars, provides her with a significant boost to NP damage when on an airborne battlefield.
Said battlefields are, as you might expect, pretty rare, but often climactic fights in this game happen in the sky, whether due to weird plot BS or because we’re fighting on the Storm Border, so it’s not the worst thing to have when going into major story fights.
So how is Wandjina overall? Well on the one hand, she’s high in the sky and shining like a diamond:
However, she’s also borne from a place with venomous creepy-crawlies galore, the Hell on Earth only known as “Down Under”:
While ultimately her kit is pretty basic, Wandjina isn’t really lacking in power. The potency of a fairly regular 50% team gauge charge cannot be understated, and even throwing that aside she’s pretty capable at obliterating the competition with her reliable super-effective modifier NP. Even if not pitted against her favoured matchup of another Foreigner with the Threat to Humanity trait, she can dish out a lot of damage, and frequently with her decent NP refund and good NP gain on her regular cards, all fuelled by the critical stars her 7-hit Quick NP will inevitably produce.
She won’t really be doing anything crazy for a team in terms of insane NP loops or high critical damage output, but what Wandjina does have is a consistent offensive presence with powerful supportive tools for her team that she can abuse for herself, too. While she’s not placed in a favourable class for such a job, she’s a pretty solid single-target damage dealer who can easily stand out when pitted against the right high-difficulty content. Rath™ Seal of Approval.

As always with the single-Servant events, this is a bit of a short issue, but heck, it was a long break after Summer this year so something short to ease us all back in was long overdue.
The fun part about this time of year is we have zero clue as to what the roadmap will be until Christmas, so pretty much everything thrown at us will be a surprise. I, for one, hope we can get the next Ordeal Call chapter soon, partially because I’m down bad for the lollipop lady.
But only time will tell - until the next issue!
