Overview
- This encounter is mostly the same as the original, with slightly lower HP values, so the guide below still applies; the quick Servant recommendation table has been updated to include new Servants added to the roster since the original run.
- Standing as the final boss of the labyrinth is Beast III/L, Kama herself. Kama deals and receives normal damage against all classes save for Alter Ego and Foreigner, from which she takes 20% extra damage. This fight’s field effect removes 3 debuffs from all party members at the start every turn, alleviating the pressure Kama applies via the multitudes of debuffs in this fight. Upon entering the fight, however, Kama will reduce the party’s NP gauge to 0 - she will do this at the start every turn until the third.
- Kama comes with a total of four health bars, with increasing HP values in higher difficulties. Her first Break restores 5,000 HP to all party members on the field, in exchange for removing all of their ATK buffs. She heals the party by a further 5,000 HP upon second Break, but this time, she applies a permanent, unremovable 1,000 Damage Increase buff on herself. Her final Break effect applies a Critical Rate debuff which gets stronger the lower her HP is (10%-50%) as well as a 100% Damage Up buff against Charmed enemies.
- Starting from the 4th turn onwards, with an interval of 3 turns, Kama is able to summon a clone (with a maximum of two active clones at any given time). The clones do not attack, but they also don’t reduce the main Kama’s number of moves, which stays at the maximum amount of 3 actions. Furthermore, they will also apply a 20% Debuff Resistance debuff as well as an NP Seal on a random party member every turn, and will also use their NPs when available. Killing a clone removes all debuffs from one random party member.
- Importantly, while Kama will apply an Invincible Ignore on herself before every NP, her clones do not, making it possible to block their NPs via Invincible or Evasion.
- There are six versions of the fight depending on the amount of Hanafuda used. The difficulty level primarily affects the boss HP, as well as the debuffs Servants get when normal attacking (refer to Boss Statistics for more details). Of particular note is the Buff Block applied in the hardest difficulty, which adds an additional layer of complexity to the fight.
- The 100% gauge fight also has Kama gain an extra NP charge every turn for the first 10 turns, unless she reaches Break on the very first turn. As such, players with very high-end compositions may consider performing a first-turn burst in order to alleviate some pressure from the fight.
- The easiest version is easy enough that a lot of Servants are capable of soloing it with the help of an event CE, while the hardest necessitates the use of heavily survival-oriented teams and as such generally results in very long, drawn-out fights.
- While the multitudes of debuffs can be annoying, the stage’s primary threats come from the Kamas’ NPs. The clones’ NPs do not come with Invincible Ignore, and therefore can be blocked with defensive tools (such as AoE Evasion/Invincibility), but killing the clones when they’re nearing/at full NP charge is also a solid last resort. The main Kama’s Invincible Ignore can be prevented with Buff Blocks; the event Mystic Code’s Bloodless Fall of Edo’s Guts can also be used as a get-out-of-jail-free card. Alternatively, a Taunter can also be used to redirect the NP.
- Aside from her NP, Kama also possesses another Charm in the form of her second skill, which can be deadly when paired with her final Break effect’s Damage Up buff. Using Charm-immune Servants will weaken her in this regard, which makes the run slightly safer.
Team Recommendations
- AoE Arts damage dealers are recommended for this stage (particularly in higher difficulties), in order to kill off the clones while also dealing damage to Kama in an efficient manner. Due to the event’s massive damage bonus, challenge-oriented Servants who generally suffer from low base damage shine in this stage, such as Scheherazade, Sessyoin Kiara and Murasaki Shikibu. Katsushika Hokusai is also a great option on the Foreigner side.
- In terms of single-target damage dealers, Kama, First Hassan and Sitonai are very powerful options, the first two having Charm immunity (and Kama having also a 100% Damage buff in the event), while Sitonai holds offensive advantage against Beast III/L, being an Alter Ego and belongs to the Arts category, which makes her more suited to the drawn out nature of the fight.
- In general, damage dealers of any class can be used, especially those with supereffectives against any of Kama’s many traits (Humanoid, Female, Demonic, Divine, King, Pseudo-Servant, Chaotic Evil), preferably those with event damage bonus.
- Jeanne d’Arc in particular shines in this stage, as her NP is a very reliable source of AoE Invincibility which also provides healing, debuff removal and a minor amount of Defense buff. With such a long fight, Tamamo no Mae is also a great support option, granting a decent amount of sustain and control while also applying massive damage boosts to an Arts damage dealer.
- Taunters, such as Chevalier d’Eon, Mash Kyrielight or Georgios are powerful choices to help defend against Kama’s NP, especially if equipped with something like 500-Year Obsession, which would give the party even further breathing room.
- Damage supports, such as Merlin or Zhuge Liang can be used to boost a Servant’s damage and/or NP Charge, especially if a first-turn burst is to be performed.
- Many Servants have been proven capable of soloing the lower difficulty versions (see the recommendation table below).
