Overview
- Welcome to the Challenge Quest of the Christmas 2021 event, featuring four break bar Servants, one of which is Santa Nightingale herself! She is accompanied by three child Servants eagerly awaiting presents from her. One of them, Chacha will come in from the back line after a frontline Servant is defeated.
- This battle's primary gimmick is that defeating Nightingale will cause all remaining Servants to gain buffs:
- Paul Bunyan grants all allies 1 extra NP bar tick per turn for 5 turns if she is on the field when Nightingale is defeated.
- Medusa Lancer will buff all allies' DEF by 50% for 5 turns if she is on the field when Nightingale is defeated.
- Chacha boosts Crit Rate for all allies by 50% for 5 turns as soon as she is on the field when Nightingale is defeated.
- Defeating all other Servants before Nightingale is the safest option, particularly if using a team that won't defeat all enemies before their NPs come out.
- Note all break effect buffs are removable, so bringing a Servant that removes buffs is also a decent option. The buffs that child Servants activate after defeating Nightingale are not removable, however.
- All Servants also have (removable) on Break effects, after breaking their first break bar:
- Bunyan applies Damage Cut 30,000 to all allies for 2 times, 5 turns.
- Medusa debuffs all enemies' DEF by 50% for 5 turns.
- Chacha buffs her own Buster by 100% for 5 turns.
- Nightingale grants Evade (2 times) to all allies, increases debuff resist, and also decreases their ATK slightly as a demerit.
- While Nightingale is alive on the field with at least one other ally, she will provide a gift to one of her allies with one of three random buffs:
- Crit Strength and Crit Rate + 50% (1 turn)
- Restore 20,000 HP + Clear debuffs
- ATK +50% and ATK +50% (1 turn), two stacks totaling 100%
- Three Servants have AoE NPs, while Medusa's ST NP inflicts Stun. Be ready with defensive measures when an enemy NP is about to fire, or try to postpone their NP by stunning or draining their NP Gauge.
- Nightingale's NP also removes Offensive Buffs! This means any buff stacking done will be removed after her NP fires, so be wary.
Team Recommendations
- AoE damage dealers are preferable, while Class Options are somewhat flexible, provided two enemies are Berserker and the other two are Archer and Lancer. Many Lancers are capable of looping their NP, which can be useful in this encounter, given their advantage vs Nightingale as well. Just remember that if Nightingale dies before Paul Bunyan, then Bunyan will give all of the enemies an extra NP charge per turn; try to focus Bunyan down first with the damage dealer.
- Buff Removal is a particularly useful effect to have for this encounter, since all of the break effects and buffs that the enemies can gain are removable during this encounter. This makes options such as Amakusa Shirou particularly useful for this fight.
- Sure Hit or Ignore Invincibility is also helpful if Buff Removal is unavailable, to deal with the 2-time Evade that Nightingale will apply after break.
- Damage and NP Gauge Support is useful as always, with Skadi, Waver, Merlin, Nero Bride, and Tamamo all being excellent choices depending on the damage dealer's card color of choice. Having NP Gauge charge available on demand can help burst down the enemy quickly, especially since some of the enemies have short NP Gauges.
- Invincibility / Evade Support will help a great deal in case the enemy survives long enough to unleash their NP. Full party invincibility options are particularly useful since 3 of 4 enemies have AoE NPs.
- Mystic Code: Chaldea Combat Uniform provides the Order Change and Gandr skills. Order Change allows for hot-swapping in support, which can be useful for helping to stack buffs or top off NP Gauge, while Gandr can help to postpone Nightingale's NP (or any other Servant's NP) to buy an extra precious turn.
