Overview
-
The fight consists of seven Choco Stones, each of which turns into a Servant when killed. While the enemy Servants belong to various classes, there are no Archers among them.
-
Each Servant uses a unique skill upon entry. Of particular note are Paracelsus, who applies a 30% NP Drain to the whole party, and Nero, who increases the party’s NP Gain, though the latter also applies a Defense buff on herself.
-
The Choco Stones’ low HP makes them excellent for Overgauging. Charge the party’s NP gauges with Arts chains!
-
At the beginning of each turn, the stage’s field effect fires, healing both enemies and allies by 10% of their maximum HP; on enemy Servants, this generally means anywhere from ~10,000 (Medb) to ~18,000 (Taiga). As such, it is recommended to quickly deplete the enemy HP via use of NPs, as relying on normal attacks would likely result in a battle of attrition.
-
In general, there are two primary ways of approaching this fight. The first and safer approach is to ‘kill’ one Choco Stone at a time, and dealing with the enemy Servants one by one. This results in the enemy Servant getting only one action per turn, and as the Choco Stones cannot NP (though they deal around 3,000 to 4,000 damage), the fight becomes advantageous as the Master only needs to keep track of a single enemy’s NP bar. However, a restriction is that this approach may only involve single-target damage dealer Servants.
-
The second approach is to ‘kill’ three Choco Stones one after another while stalling the released Servants, and then nuking all three with a fully-buffed AoE NP. While much faster in terms of turn count, this approach is also riskier, and is recommended for Masters with well-developed Servant pools.
- It’s highly recommended to kill enemy Berserker Servants as fast as possible due to their high damage. Particular attention should also be paid to Nero and Cleopatra, who will cast Invictus Spiritus and Imperial Privilege respectively on their first turn. The stage’s real ‘boss’, however, is Jaguarman, who has an extra Break bar compared to the rest, alongside very nasty critical hits.
Team Recommendations
-
The fight is essentially a battle of attrition; as such, defensive Supports and Taunters are highly recommended. While healers are not mandatory thanks to the field effect, they still help the team keep up with the Choco Stones’ attacks. Mash Kyrielight in particular works very well thanks to her Damage Cut buffs.
-
In general, it is a good idea to employ multiple damage dealers to deal with the enemies’ different classes, but Sabers, such as Miyamoto Musashi, Lancelot (Saber), and Bedivere are particularly important to deal with Jaguarman. Single-target Archers are also recommended in order to eliminate the enemy Nero before her high survivability becomes too much of a problem.
-
Servants capable of removing buffs, such as Medea and Abigail Williams, may prove even more useful than the above Servants, as they make enemies such as Nero and Cleopatra much more manageable.
-
When the second approach is taken, offensive Supports such as Merlin and Zhuge Liang are mandatory, in order to ensure kills on the enemies.
-
Meanwhile, the DPS pick for the second approach should be centered around strong AoE options. Those such as Semiramis (thanks to her event damage boost), Gilgamesh, and Minamoto no Raikou work well in this situation. It is, however, still recommended to bring along additional damage dealers in case things do not go as expected.
-
As the Choco Stones belong to the Berserker class, Foreigners prove particularly bulky, especially when the healing provided by the field effect is taken into account. With a bit of setup, an Abigail Williams solo is possible (see the videos section).
- The Mystic Code pick for this stage depends greatly on the team composition; in general, however, Mystic Code: Chaldea is a great pick, providing the team with extra healing, damage boost, as well as an Evasion in cases of emergency. As always, Chaldea Combat Uniform is a great choice for switch-in strategies.
