Overview
- This encounter contains all four raid bosses. Their skills and NP are the same as their original encounter (all Onis and Ushi Gozen have an AoE NP), except they now have Break Bars and skills that activate upon removing each layer.
- Pay attention to enemies’ NP charge when deciding to break any of the Oni boss’ first HP bar! Breaking Kazakomaru, Wazahamimaru, or Gorikimaru will charge all enemies’ NP gauge by 1, while also removing the card type resistance buff they have active. If any enemies are one charge away from an NP, prepare any defensive measures before breaking their HP bar!
- Breaking Ushi Gozen will cause her to cast a 3-turn defense buff on herself, as well as benefitting the Master’s party by applying a 3-turn Crit Star Drop Rate Buff on the party. Note that Defense Pierce as well as stacking Defense Down/Attack Up buffs will negate this aspect of Ushi Gozen easily.
- Bring Golden Sumo (on DPS) / Hot Spring (on Support) CEs! Stacking damage bonus CEs will help make the fight easier.
- Lastly, Japanese Servants still receive a bonus to their damage output!
Encounter Tips:
- Wave 1: Focus on Gorikimaru first. Gorikimaru has an AoE NP, and poses a threat to any Caster Support due to his class. He loves to critical hit Caster Servants for up to 9k damage, so consider burning some survival skills right away just in case. The two accompanying Caster crystals, on the other hand, have attacks that are less threatening and they have 6-charge NP bars with an ST NP.
- Wave 2: Multiple options for kill order. The main threats are Ushi Gozen's incredibly high base damage attacks, and her ability to charge the team's AoE NPs. Masters should also beware that the Oni charge the enemy team's NP bars if they are broken. Make sure to time their break carefully.
- Using an AOE (Buster) composition:
- This is the easiest route to go for. Rather than having to deal with Ushi Gozen's damage and uncertain charging behaviour (and her utterly destructive NP), it's very possible to just...burn her down before she can launch 2 NPs. A (borrowed) Merlin can shield the team for her first NP while buffing oodles of damage on top of a Buster Servant. Time his Illusion well as the Oni will charge NP quickly as they break. The Star Generation buff from Ushi will also greatly boost critical Buster Servants.
- Snipe Ushi Gozen with ST NPs
- For Masters without a strong AoE option, Servants like Kintoki(Rider) can burn Ushi Gozen down extremely quickly with high bonus damage. The advice listed above is still in effect, but Masters will have to clear out the Oni afterwards. This option puts more pressure on timing as the Oni do unleash nasty debuffs that can delay skill timings.
- Methodical Assassination
- Lastly, Masters with low DPS can instead snipe down the Oni first (removing their special attacks and debuffs from the equation), while they tank Ushi Gozen's damage and stall her NP. An approach an Arts team might take, but Ushi Gozen's own NP charge can make her unpredictable. In such a case, Masters may need to resort to "Time Alter: Game-reset-and-quickly-alter-enemy-AI."
Team Recommendations
- Front Line:
- DPS (MLB Golden Sumo)
- 2x NP Gauge / Damage / Defensive / Invincibility / Evade Support (Hot Springs)
- Back Line:
- 2x NP Gauge / Defensive / Invincibility / Evade Support (Hot Springs)
- 1x Support or Last Stand (Hot Springs)
- Flexible DPS Options due to Damage Boost CEs: The huge damage boost offered by the Event CEs allows Masters to have a bit more flexibility in their choice of DPS. Almost any DPS of choice can work. However, there are a few standout options:
- Gilgamesh deals bonus damage to Ushi Gozen as she counts as a Servant, and can wipe out the HP of the supporting bosses with his AoE NP. He also deals hefty critical damage on non-NP turns, making him a very potent choice as DPS for this fight.
- Oda Nobunaga’s Anti-Divine + Anti-Riding combination allows her to deal excellent damage against Ushi Gozen. Additionally, her AoE NP deals enough damage with bonus CEs to take out the Oni bosses as well. While waiting for her NP gauge to recharge, her critical potential also allows her to shave off the HP on Ushi Gozen’s extra HP gauge. As a final point, her welfare status is also a plus.
- Invincibility / Evade skills are useful given that none of the bosses in this encounter can penetrate either of these defensive skills. A DPS with an Evade/Invincibility skill, or bringing Support that can grant either of these buffs to the party will help mitigate damage in case the bosses manage to charge their NPs before they fall.
Simple F2P Strategy
- A very straightforward tactic is to make use of a Mash / (borrowed) Merlin / your best AoE Buster DPS (Nobu Nobu, Nobu?) with a backline David(30+).
- Masters should equip their Chaldea Combat Uniform.
- Merlin can buff your AoE Servant and charge their NP/supply Critical Stars all at once. He also provides protection from Ushi Gozen's NP.
- Mash can protect the team, especially at the start vs Gorikimaru. Be careful as an Ushi Gozen critical hit may well oneshot the fluffy Magi. Use her Taunt and Defense buffs liberally
- Break out David in case of emergency with Order Change. He can shield one more Ushi Gozen NP while Merlin's Illusion recharges.
- Lastly, the strategy is to simply focus Ushi Gozen down while the Oni die from 2 AoE NPs. Ideally burn their first health bar before Ushi Gozen NPs the first time.
- Good luck!
