MMM - Rambunctious Radical Revering Self-Reliance Reverses Reviled Rule, Returning Roll-able (Chaldea Boys Collection 2023)

First in the skill lineup is Heaven-Rending Prodigy. This is a plain and simple team buff, albeit with some more uncommon buffs to it. This skill provides 20% Quick Up and Buster Up buffs to the whole crew for 3 turns, as well as a neat 1-time, 3-turn NP Overcharge boost (1 level) buff to the team as well.

While these buffs aren’t as broad as say, an Attack buff, most teams will appreciate them, and especially the Overcharge boost can have some handy applications if used in the right composition. But Takasugi himself also uses them effectively, with Quick being his primary card type, and his own NP (spoilers) having an offensive steroid that scales on Overcharge, so this also translates to a solid offensive steroid for the man himself.

With an 8-turn base cooldown, this skill has a longer cooldown than typical for its power, but I suppose Overcharge boosts are pretty good, so it’s not too absurd.

I’m fairly sure this next skill’s name is a pun on the Meiji Restoration, in which case shame on you, uh, whoever wrote this Servant’s profile. Arms Restoration is a fairly basic targeted ally buff skill, providing two benefits - a 3-turn, 50% Critical Damage boost, and a 1 turn Skill Cooldown reduction.

On paper, these buffs are pretty weak for a modern skill, and you’d be right.

But hey, I’ve got to sell the value of this skill anyway. Skill Cooldown reduction in the right situations can be very powerful. For example, Arcueid was incapable of 3-turn looping with Black Grail in an efficient manner before Summer Ibuki came along, and now Takasugi too can enjoy the title of “Battlesuit swap Support to specifically give Arcueid enough skill cooldown reduction to use her 100% gauge charger again”. Truly an honor.

That aside, most of the time this buff will be used as either a CD reduction to Takasugi’s own supports to get their powerful buffs back quicker, or on himself to reap the benefits of that sizable critical damage buff and also lower his own cooldowns.

In either case, it’s not an overwhelmingly powerful skill, but it is a nice boost to his offensive capabilities no matter how you use it, so it’s solid. The 8-turn cooldown is probably just to avoid any spammable cooldown reduction skill shenanigans, as if you’re not careful you could accidentally create an infinite skill loop or something.

Last on the skill lineup is Irremovable Japanese Spirit. This is a Guts skill with a 1-time, 3-turns buff for 3k HP, but get that shit outta here, who cares?

The real meat to this skill is its other effects - a 30% gauge charger and 30% Attack Up buff for 3 turns to Takasugi himself. As always, any form of gauge charger is great news, even a 30% one, and the Attack buff is an important supplement to his damage steroids that would be otherwise mediocre without it.

Obviously, having that defensive fall-back in the Guts buff is useful, but the majority of the time you use Takasugi, it won’t come into play. The gauge charge and Attack buff, however, are vital parts of his kit which aid him massively for NP looping, as well as his performance as a damage dealer in general.

Outside of that, though, this skill is incredibly straightforward. Being both a Guts and NP gauge charger in one, the 9-turn base cooldown is hardly surprising, so don’t expect either buff to come back quickly.
