Overall introduction text here.I swear, when I sat back after the New Year, prepared to do the MMM for the first banner of LB7, I was expecting to assess an Aztec catboy god or two. Not…this.

Not that I’m complaining. Nitocris in a new, intensely more emo form with the power of Anubis behind her is immensely cool, but this is simultaneously unexpected and feels like a complete undermining of the point behind “No LB7 banners until it’s completely out”.

My brother in Christ, Lasengle, you literally just released a Servant who hadn’t even been introduced in LB7 yet! Is there anything worse you could spoil? Actually, don’t answer that - I have a Servant to review.

Introduction

Scales? Check. Feather weighed against one’s soul? Check. Yep, that’s an Anubis Stand, all right.

I like the extra detail of just doing vanilla Nitocris’s NP as her Extra Attack. It’s like you’re almost visually displaying power creep.

Overview

Man, Avengers are such an eclectic bunch at times. With the tied lowest Attack stat of any 5* Avenger, and the second-highest HP stat, Nito has a defensive spread in a group of Servants that are all hyper-offensive anyways. Considering the pretty notable gap between her HP stat and Space Ishtar’s, she’s not exactly gotten the best hand dealt for her base stats, but being an Avenger is already a win, placing her Attack among the highest in the game, so I wouldn’t complain too much.

More importantly, her base stats are supplemented by the usual host of Avenger Class skills, with some added bonuses. Her Avenger, Oblivion Correction, and Self-Restoration are pretty standard, providing her with extra defensive NP gain, a nice boost to Critical Damage, and a regular supply of NP gauge that ensures her overall NP gain isn’t too bad no matter how many hits her Arts card is burdened with.

On top of that, she also packs low-ranking Madness Enhancement to provide a miniscule boost to her sole Buster card, and EX-ranked Divinity, providing a flat damage boost on every attack, albeit one that doesn’t actually impact her damage output much.

Given the EX Divinity, you’d be right in assuming she literally is just Anubis themselves, somehow managing to remain a Heroic Spirit in spite of being a Divine Spirit in all but name. Ah, FGO, always eroding the basis of rules for Fate Servants bit by bit.

Conclusion

So, how’s our surprise addition to the roster overall? On the one hand, she’s a fair judge, and one with a…peculiar sense of dress, to say the least:

In difficult content, Nitocris Alter brings some very exclusive tools to the table. Her own damage output, especially if she is hitting Human attribute targets, is pretty solid, but her supportive tools are rare, if a bit unconventional. Being able to raise the buff success rate on her allies can make some supportive tools more powerful than typical, such as Langling’s team Arts buff as mentioned before, and her own team buffs like Debuff Immunity and Death Immunity can make for vital protections in the right fights. Throw in her ability to alter the team’s alignment and there are certainly some interesting combos you can do with her, given the right circumstance.

As a universal farmer, Nito manages the job well enough. Her damage output, even with the Avenger class holding her up, isn’t the greatest, and neither is her refund. However, her 100% gauge charger and ability to run Black Grail pretty much carry her out of those issues, instead making for a very consistent farmer in Battlesuit setups, even if the investment necessary for them is fairly high.

However, she is, well, from Egyptian Mythology. Just read enough about Egyptian Gods and you’ll probably get why they’re weird (Do NOT ask Set about the cum salad.):

While on paper Nito’s kit seems to work out effectively, in practice, and especially in long-term fights, it can run into issues. Primarily, all of Nito’s skills are on different cooldowns, which is an issue when her 3rd skill is very dependent on the effects of her 2nd, but one will be up before the other. As a result, you usually will want to delay using it until her 2nd skill is off cooldown, which essentially turns a skill with a 5-turn cooldown at max level into a 7-turn cooldown. When put that way, the low-cooldown team Evasion buff actually doesn’t seem so great.

Nito’s farming comes with the caveat of a fairly intense setup. Compared to other universal Arts farmers like Summer Ibuki who can coast by with just Black Grail and 2 Castorias, Nito demands far more time and attention to get through a 3-turn loop, which in some respects defeats the point of even doing a 3-turn loop. Add in the need for Oberon to dish out particularly high damage numbers, and she isn’t exactly low investment, either.

Nitocris Alter might’ve come out of nowhere, but she’s definitely not worth nothing. It’s usually hard to make Avengers bad, with it being one of the best classes in the game, and that rings true for Nito, too. In spite of a relatively modest skill set and baseline stat total, she dishes out enough damage to be viable for difficult content and farming alike, while also having unique tools to make her the occasional utility choice in more unusual situations.

So far as universal farmers go, she’s not exactly the greatest, but she’s one of the easiest to actually make a 3-turn loop with if your support lineup is poor, and comes with the massive benefit of being Permanent, meaning she’s accessible even outside of rate-up, and somewhat likely to spook unsuspecting players and hand them a versatile farmer free of charge, when there is no other universal farmer in the SSR Permanent pool currently.

So despite her flaws, Nito is a dependable farmer, capable of dishing out damage necessary to farm the important event nodes, a reliable option for difficult content, and widely available to the playerbase past this rate-up. While certainly not the best Arts AOE farmer, or even the best Arts AOE Avenger, she is well worth investing in if you’d have her. Rath™ Seal of Approval.

Outro

If nothing else, this means I have 1 fewer Servants to worry about evaluating all at once when the inevitable LB7 banner drops.

And boy have I been left in suspense waiting for it. Compared to LB6’s first half, LB7 has almost felt tame, so I’m expecting some mayhem in the coming story chapters.

…at least it gives me some time to farm QP after I drained my stocks getting Karna to lvl 120. Congratulations to myself, by the way.

Until next time!
