Newbie question

Hi guys, i'm just playing this game yesterday so i have a ton of question and unclear things that i need to know, but for now this is the only question that come up my mind: The first roll after tutorial i got Hecrales (Berseker) and Carmilla (Assasin), 2nd roll i got Siegfried (Saber). Please advise which servant i need to focus to be useful for end game content and the team set up around him/her? As i know my luck is not that much to roll a 5* servant and i way behind too much so i want to focus on 4* or 3* servant to go all the way to end game content to save time and resources.
If you guys have another 3* or 4* servant that can work well with end game content and the team build around him/her, it will be highly appreciated.
As i have no idea about the mechanic and too many characters so please bear with me and advise as clear as possible.
p/s: sorry for my bad english as this is not my native language, thanks all you guys.

Herc is your best bet right now. He's arguably the most reliable 4 star in the game, especially when he has his bond CE. Carmilla is also pretty good too. Other notable servants are: Cu Chulainn (lancer) (3 star), Hans Christian Anderson (2 star) and Mash.

Imo focus on levelling the above servants (and whichever others you like) by just farming exp from the daily quests. When the servants in your party are all at around level 70 - 80ish, this event shouldn't be too hard, try to see if you can get all 5 copies of the event servant santa alter and her ascension items (the chicken pieces in the shop). She'll make a good addition to your roster. Not sure if someone who just started yesterday can do that, but I'd say it's worth a try since it'll be a long time until we can get her again, if ever.

After the event ends, there should be a week with no events. Use that time to get through the story. Level your servants when things get tough, and aim to eventually level a good servant of each class. The tier lists on this site are a good place to start for which ones are good.

Also in the meantime, see if you can slowly work toward getting enough mana prisms to buy the chaldea lunchtime CE in the shop right now. Bond points are super useful to have, and especially for Herc they are invaluable.

BTW not sure what you mean by "end game", but there isn't really one with this game. Gacha hell never ends.

I second Herc but I prefer gorilla decks. He pairs very well with Mash so you may need to get through a few singularity because her ascension is story locked. You'll get a lot of SQs going through the story and I would advise rolling them only on a 5* banner you want (there's a certain OP mage coming soon)

Fuuma (evasion skill) goes well with Herc and Cu is good in case everyone dies. Ushiwakamura can help with NP gain. Get the Santa Alter and prioritise her ascension mats. NP5 won't come in as handy as having her maxed.

Siegfried may be useful for Dragons in later story quests as far as I've heard.

Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate it.
Could you please suggest the team build around Herc to get the best out of him? And why is the increase bond CE is important? What's the use of bond point?
I think it's impossible for me to level 70-80 within this event ;(
I won an exchange ticket but have no idea how to exchange for Santa Alter and where to find it as i cannot find the ticket anywhere.
My mean of end-game is process to later content of this game such as the final boss that i saw on youtube, the guys with why hair and strong as hell.

Hmm... I mostly used herc with SPARTA leonidas due to his taunt and 3 buster deck including NP and a waver friend or someone who can support herc to build up his np and Herc CE is important Because of its effect that applied 3 guts which will help him to stay alive when struck by a stray RNG crit. Bond point is as stated by its name is the Bond of your servant, the more you used a servant the higher their bond point become up to level 10. You will be rewarded when you increase the bond level of your servant to 6-10 with an apple or a saint qaurtz depending on the rarity of you servant, apple for 1-3 star servant and 4-5 star servant will have a saint qaurtz but for certain servant (ex. Herc) at bond level 10 they will get a Bond Craft essence that can only be used by the said servant. As for the exchange ticket... Unfortunately i dont really know how to used them now since i dont have them. The end game that you probably saw in youtube is the boss of the singularity (map) / event that you'll face at the end of the singularity/event.

If your planning to max ascend herc, i strongly suggest that you participate every event, rerun etc. to farm for the materials needed by herc. Trust me since i have spend alot of time and golden apples to get the said materials in the training ground which is really time consuming.

Note: if you're reading this and find a mistake pls reply below since i only start playing about 2+ month ago. Ty

When you max out a servant's bond points, you get a free CE that has a special effect for that servant. Most of the bond CEs aren't that great, but the one for Herc is amazing. You should try to always have Herc in your party, so that he will always earn bond points from everything that you do. Even if you don't want to actually use him for a particular fight, you should at least stick him in your back row, so he still gains bond points.

You don't need to get all of your servants to 70-80 before the event ends, and it probably is impossible, since you don't even have ascension materials for them. Just try to level them up enough so that you can farm the event, and then focus on the event for now.

You can exchange your tickets for Santa Alter in a few days, after you are able to complete the main event quests.

Yeah okay forgot you won't have ascension mats. So I guess just level them as far as you can. You can exchange the ticket after you clear the final story mission for this event. For now I'd say focus on getting the buckets of chicken from the shop since you need those to increase santa's level cap (that's more important than getting more copies of her imo).

If you mean the final chapter, I'd say there's no real need to hurry, but Herc can solo that one (pretty hard to do tho). I'd say a sufficiently levelled Herc with a few others around for support would be sufficient.

And yeah, as others have pointed out, maxing the bond points gives you a servant's unique bond CE, which for Herc makes him really good. You also get additional quartz/apples for each bond level you get to after bond 5.

Also forgot to mention but try getting some veteran players onto your friend list with maxed servants. When I first started I relied heavily on strong support to carry me.

Thanks for advice, and yes, atm i reply heavily on max level support friend, or else i cannot even clear 20AP event quest. And i got stuck at 30AP quest, herc and mash are too squishy with current level: 29 for herc and 16 for mash. Cannot find exp card to lv up them now.
As i know i do not have enough resources to raise too many servants so that's why i focus on some servants that can carry me all the way :D
Hope i can clear the final chapter for a free 4* servant.

You should run the Ember Gathering daily quest a few times to get some exp cards first. You will get 9 exp cards every time you run it, and you also get a lot of master exp from it, so you will keep getting master levels to fill up your AP bar for free, so you can just keep running it until you've got a few servants at a decent level. From the main screen, go to 'Chaldea Gate', then go to 'Daily Quests', and then run the 40 AP Ember Gathering quest for a while, until you've got a few servants leveled up. You should be able to get through the 40 AP quest with a good Jalter (Jeanne Alter) support.

The Ember quest for today gives Lancer, Assassin, and Berserker cards, but you can feed them to any class (for example, it's fine to feed Lancer cards to Heracles).

All your servants are good, it is strongly recommended to focus on Heracles ( cause he’s a god ). For game mechanic, all you need is here :
https://grandorder.gamepress.gg/guides
I think you should play some main quests to feel comfortable and then you could take part in the current event which give you a good free 4 star rider :)

Thanks for the link.
By the way, can we summon 5* servant on the first free-roll after the tutorial?

AFAIK, the tutorial roll has a limited pool of servants, and you can't get a 5* from it. Your tutorial roll was very lucky, because you got two 4*s, and one of them is the best tutorial servant possible, and the other is probably the best 4* assassin that exists right now. I only got Elisabeth from my tutorial roll, and I never even bothered to level her, since I got Summer Kiyo on my first non-tutorial roll.

I once roll 3 4* servant in the free summon after tutotial (reset marathon): 2 Siegfried and 1 Marie Antoinette, at first sight i very glad but after reading some guides i decide to re-roll and end up with Hercrales and Carmilla.
Got it that we cannot summon 5* servant in the free summon, thanks for your information.

That's extraordinary luck. Getting both Heracles and Carmilla is a rare event.

Carmilla is slightly worse than Jack against females, but she's a viable substitute, and Heracles is amazing.

That said, what you really need now is good friends to carry you through this event. So, play through story and send a ton of friend requests. You can also stick to farming the 10AP Novice: Dreaming Christmas quest, but that will give you fewer opportunities to send friend requests. Once you have stronger friends, you can rely on them to go through the event.

The problem is that main event quests require you to complete them without assistance. They are not difficult, but a story guest servant will probably not solo them. I will test that later.

Before sending all those friend requests, setup your own support team. Put Carmilla and Sigfried into their own classes and put Heracles into your "All" class. Equip them with any CE. It does not really matter which as long as something is equipped. This will signal to the potential friends that you at least understand how to do that and increase the likelihood of your request being accepted. :)

Thanks for suggestion, could you please advise a good team set up that work around Carmilla? As after reading some guild, it's seem that Hecrales is not too good for later content and he is squishy.
Of course i sent a ton of request already but only a few of them accept, luckily, i got a friend with Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) at lv.100, and honestly all the quest event i passed all replied on her.

Heracles is actually very useful for later content, but you need his bond CE. His bond CE allows him to revive from death 3 times. Plus he has a guts skill that will allow him to revive a 4th time. He also has an evasion skill, and you can get a second evasion from your mystic code. So once you get that bond CE and level up his skills, Heracles becomes one of the most durable servants in the game. This is why people keep advising you to level his bond ASAP.

Basically, with tougher content, you can put Herc in your 6th slot, so he can be your last man standing. That way, if the rest of your party gets wiped out, Herc can finish the job. With his bond CE, and maxed skills, and the right mystic code, Herc can easily keep himself alive against a boss for 8+ turns. Because of this, Herc can solo a lot of tough content.

As far as Carmilla goes, you probably would mostly just use her when you're fighting a lot of riders, or females. She's not really the type of servant that you would use in every fight. Her main thing is that her NP does pretty good damage, so you want a team that can either help charge her NP bar, or keep her alive long enough for her to charge her own NP bar. It's also helpful if her team can give her some buffs to increase her damage. I guess a decent example team would be Waver (borrow one) + Carmilla + Hans/Mash/Georgios/Caesar/Shakespeare (depending on the situation). This website has a pretty good write up about all of these servants, as well as some playstyle and team suggestions a lot of the time, so don't hesitate to read about them to get some ideas. You can either type the servant's name in the search bar, or find the servant in the tier list and click it. In fact, I would strongly recommend that you check out the 1-3* tier list to get a good idea of some of the lower rarity servants that are worth investing in. There are a lot of low rarity servants that are quite good.

Thanks for the information about the bond CE of Herc, it's really helpful.
Sure i read a lot of guides and servant on this website before deciding to make a question, i thought i will build Robin Hood (Archer) later.

- Hercules is your man, put him on the back to raise his Bond level if you don't use him. A premiere berserker and his quality alone can rival or even better than most of the 5 star berserkers, he is a 5 star disguised as a 4 star.
- Carmilla is a solid Rider and female boss killer, she is a premiere 4 star assassin servant.
Can also be used as your crit star generator, she is good.
- Siegfried is a good saber now, can dish out damage against dragons with the damage equal or even better than most 5 stars.
Also pretty good on general use such as wave clearing and farming.
- Georgios is one of the best tank in the game, You can turn everything into a dragon using Georgios using his NP Ascalon. Has a 3 turn Taunt with relatively short CD that can function well for protecting your DPS/damager.
Siegfried partner-in-crime.
- Hans is one of the best supp in the game and for me he is the best.
He is just a Bronze servant but his quality is really2 amazing.

Focus on ST, AOE, Supp, Tank roles in general if you want a solid and strong gameplay.
There are also Semi-Supp/DPS, Semi-Tank/DPS or etc servants.

But for now focus on Hercules first, as others mentioned you need his Bond CEs ASAP.
Berserker basically have strong base attack and effective on almost everything.
But they have one problem, they're really squishy servants.
A general weak and strong to almost all type class, deal almost double damage and take double too, pretty fair trade.
What if there's a berserker that can't or hardly die and as long as Herc still alive he hits like a truck !!! well, Herc and Chu Alter exist.

For the team, Herc ( DPS ) + Mashu/Georgios ( Tank ) + Hans/Shakespeare + Tank/Supp + backup DPS/Supp + Last Man Standing ( OG Chu, OG Nero, Chu Proto or etc ).
Pretty much that's the team example for Herc, but i must say Heracles best job is at the backline or as your Last Man Standing.

Bonus :
We are farming everyday, so raise farm servants like Arash, Spartacus, Kiyohime/Eric/Darius III for later.
Save NP battery CEs like Dragon Meridians, MLB it and also don't burn it.
Also event CEs with + 50 % NP gauge and another effect such as NP damage UP, Atk up, Crit Up, or etc is a better substitute for Dragon Meridian.

For the Skill :
Arash 1-1-10
Spartacus 1-10-6 or higher is better

They're called the 3 turn farm servants and for the supp you can borrow friends Waver.
advanced, seasoned or veteran player alike also use them as a boss killer or even for memes.

For now, focus on Herc, ST and AOE basic counter class, also your own foundation for making those ''late game'' servants.
And remember, we farm and grind everydays.
Roll for servants, Farms, Enhancing servants, kill the boss, then farms again.
''Late game'' contents also need a good farmers team.

I'd say ignore the ember farming tips and just do the event free quests right now. I find them to be easy enough that even low level servants can probably handle them. Just get a support Santa Alter that's level 80+ and you should cruise through at least the 10 and 20 ap nodes with her and your servants. Christmas event guide here.

https://grandorder.gamepress.gg/event-guide/christmas-event-almost-weekly-santa-alter-2017-rerun-lite

Just look at that and the quick walkthrough tab for hints on how to complete the event. With enough socks you can get plenty of silver and gold exp cards from the lottery to get your 4 stars to level 40 plus skill gems and some common leveling and skill materials as well as QP and friend points for rolling the friend point gacha. As for servants you want to focus on, these lists help a lot.

https://grandorder.gamepress.gg/13-star-tier-list
https://grandorder.gamepress.gg/4-star-tier-list

Also congrats on getting Herc and Carmilla on the same roll. 2 of the best 4 stars right there. Also make sure you do your daily free friend point roll so you can get free 1-3 star servants and save your quartz and tickets for servants that you may want later on.

A note on herc's bond ce... It will take MONTHS of having him in EVERY battle party to reach lvl 10. I only just got mine to lvl 9 this week. But I am so looking forward to getting it soon. Having guts 3 times plus evade plus guts skill is hard to kill. Try it out on support sometime, it looks like the Einsberg castle covered in snow.

Cu chulainn is another servant that can solo content. His evade lasts for 3 hits rather than 1 turn, so the evade can stay in place for several turns protecting him. This is true for all 3* versions of cu.

Another great servant for beginners is David, his harp of healing grants the whole team a 1 hit evade that has saved me through so many enemy np attacks. He is the completion reward for Okeanos if you don't roll him sooner.

This event gives you plenty of embers, through the shop and lottery, use that to level up this week rather than the dailies. Best of luck getting santa. Hardest part for you will be farming the 200 gold stars for the ascension material with lower level servants. If you need more friends, please leave your ID and I will add you. I might not have a bunch of mlb event CE's, but all of my servants are maxed

Heracles is good for later story content, but Mash is definitely the best 4* servant for hard content later on. She can easily look at any of the premium support to the eyes without shame on hard content usefulness. As a general FGO rule for hard content, Supports > DamageDealers

Heracles is great to clear story quest because you can equip him his Bond CEs with impunity. The thing is that certain challenge events, like Nero Fest, introduce CEs with massive dmg increases and Heracles without his Bond CE isn't quite his meme-self.

The comps usually depend of the content. Story content can be soloed by Heracles most of the time, it's that easy.
