Should I save my quartz for Merlin, or roll on event gacha? + 2 more questions

Hey, I recently joined in to ask some poeple about this game. My main question is about summoning on recent banner. You know, I'm really unlucky master in this game and I don't have enough quartz for "healthy" summoning. Only 121 and 15 tickets, so it should be out of the question, so I said that to myself, but I'm lacking strong assassin very badly and I have a lot of gold exp for that class. For decent low star assassins I don't even have Kotarou from friend points, only NP maxed Hassan of Cursed Arm (no investment on him, apart from EXP needed for Interlude), but he is 2 star and I run buster/art team (Heracles and Martha from tutorial summoning along with Leonidas and caster Liz, sometimes I switch this team to Nero with Mash or mixing up the two), so he doesn't match, because he has quick NP. I know he could be of use for Herc, but I prefer matching NP type servants. As you can probably guess, I don't have a single one SSR (playing since end of Prisma Codes) and I only rolled Nero Fest banner for Nero Bride. I lost 120 quartz back then and few tickets. I'm F2P of course and gathering quartz in this game is a nightmare. I read a lot posts on this site about saving for Merlin, so I saved all my quartz and tickets since the end of Nero Fest (also because he should be great addition to my team), only spent 2 tickets for yolo pulls on Jalter Banner, mainly for confirming if the super success trick works. It didin't for me, maybe because I'm such unlucky in this game. So, should I keep my strategy for saving quartz or take a risk fo Cleo?

Also, if you don't mind, could you assess my chance for getting MLB Chaldea Lunchtime? I don't have a single one currenly (709 mana prisms only) but I know about the Christmas Lotteries and I'm saving my 32 apples for it. Do I have a chance for MLB it, or should I give up the thought? Maybe I should ask about this on separate, but I don't want to spam the board with questions two or three times in a row from same person. If I did this wrong, you may tell me, as I don't wanna cause problems for anyone.

And if someone who has MLB 4* and 5* cards from current summoning (especially 5*) accidentally read this, here is my ID: 710,494,636. I really need you, cause I only have 3 3* cards from FP gacha and farming would be a problem.

Save for Merlin, and for mana prism I cant really say for sure but do save apples for lottery and al ways make sure to save you mana prism

I feel sorry hearing that, but no worries mate i have been F2P for more than a year on this game.
Similiar to you i have failed more than 3 summoning banner ( Kintoki, Okita, Orion ) and it cost me a lot of my Quartz and if i'm not forget it's around more than 500 Quartz and Tons of Tickets which i don't count anymore.
Recently 90 SQ and few Tickets throwed and got nothing on the Summer banner. At least Gacha give me some good CE's.

I have planned to summon Gil Caster soon, i also hope you'll get lucky summoning Merlin as your first SSR.
I'm really used to the Salt here.

You can still get the MLB Chaldea Lunchtime, the good way to do it is dilligently Farm ember everyday, buy ember EXP card from event and don't forget to burn the silver one and you'll get tons of Mana Prism. Also feel free to ask, even the veteran have a lot of doubt in the game so we help each other

Bonus : each people have different luck in the Single Summon or Multi Summon, for me i have most of nice roll on the Single ones.
My only regret is, i mostly do the multi summon subconsciously and i blame myself for that.

Focus on getting your wanted servant, other Summoning banner is just a bait to lure you into getting more salt.

Thanks for a little relieving reply. I know the more you time you play the more chances you get to summon something decent, but wasted quartz are always something bad for free to play cases. I'm just feeling a little down when I see that some people have so good luck in this game and I'm not one of them. As if life wasn't so depressing and out of luck for me in many cases, but that's another story and I don't want to sound inappropriate, so I better stop. Anyway, good luck with Gil, I hope that rng wouldn't troll you in any way.
As for Chaldea Lunchtime I tried this metod a bit, but unfortunately not as much, because I have to finish 6th singularity (halfway through), Camelot and Babylon when it will be relased, for 30 quartz prize case. I'm a little confused what to do first. Farm for embers and wait for 1/2 story & hope I will have a lot of free time to complete all of it fast and it will suffice for remaining chapters, or progress regularly and possibly waste the chance to obtain CE but make sure to finish story at given time. I honestly don't know when it will be a good time to finish the story.
If I may ask, can I still buy monthly tickets in shop for mana prisms? Well, 5 tickets might help for summoning, but I will be wasting 100 prisms. Is it worth in this case? I have to buy it twice before Merlin if I hope to increase my chances to get him, but maybe this will pose a problem to getting CE. I bought them in the past, but back then I wasn't centered at CE because I thought I will never accumulate 5000 prisms for 2-3 months. I don't plan to make more mistakes like not burning silver exp but use it on low rarity servants or buying gold exp. I bought it twice very early on, it was huge mistake, but I didin't know that I can actually buy good CE for prisms later. Well, all of that is in the past, that's actually one good thing about it.

Probably save for Merlin. Don't expect too much when you roll, the 5* servants seem to come when you least expect it ;)

And I'm not sure how set you are on staying completely F2P, but if you don't mind spending a bit, you could start saving some money now to use on the guaranteed SSR banner coming on New Years.

Yeah I know. All that hype was gone when I really discovered the truth about rng in this game. So I might be very well empty handed at the end of December. As for paid gacha, I don't have a means to do it. I considered it recently, but Google Play doesn't respect payment via sms, so i can't use my "frozen" cash on the phone. Other payment options are out of my reach even for one time cases.

Right now, you have 121 SQ, but by the time Merlin drops, you'll have about a hundred or so more. That means you'll have that much more of a chance to get Merlin than you will of getting Cleo now.

Also, imo Cleo isn't really worth it, at least from a gameplay perspective. You said you lack a strong assassin. I'm assuming that means you don't want a farmer, which is pretty much what Cleo is. You'd be better off rolling for King Hassan when he comes around in January, assuming you have leftover quartz from Merlin.

Also, if you have Merlin, you won't really even need assassins all that badly. Merlin + berserkers could handle most of the casters that the game throws your way, at least until you roll a better assassin.

I think you meant Rider not Caster (Assassin>Rider). I mess that up sometimes when I'm questing.

Yeah it will be good to have King Hassan, I also considered this option but I think with my luck I will not have any leftover quartz in January because rng seems to hate me. So, probably no Merlin & no quartz in that time. I know Cleo isn't that strong, I just have a soft spot for her a little bit + I don't have any CEs aside from 3* from friend points to help me farming in event, so I almost lose my composure. Thanks for getting me back on the right place.

Look at it this way, each roll is independent. Just because you happened to fall on the slightly unlucky side up until now doesn't mean that will continue. You never know until you roll.

When you are looking for a strong Servant overall, aiming for Merlin is definitely the best bet for the foreseeable future. Owning one of the top tier support type Servants makes you more flexible in the choice for your Support (Friend) as well. If the only reason to roll for Cleo is the lack of a strong Assassin, you might as well aim for a supporter and borrow the attacker (of whatever class your friends can provide) from someone else.

Regarding Mana Prisms: Depending on how much you farm during the X-mas event, it might be possible to get the needed prisms (without sacrificing too much). The remaining events should net you like 2,2k prisms. For each additional box in the lottery it's 85 more. I would estimate around 30 boxes, when you buyout the monthly tickets. It's probably even less taking FP Summons and stuff into consideration. Not sure how easy/difficult these are to farm compared to Nero Fest, though.

On a side note: Your luck isn't terrible. Maybe just a bit on the unlucky side, but imo still within reasonable bounds (The chance of pulling a 5* after 50 Summons is like 40%, 30% for the Pickup). It'll balance out eventually. The Gatcha can be a real jerk, though. Patience is the key to success... so is a (very) big wallet.

I read somewhere here that one person opened 100 boxes on lottery and bought all of the copies of Chaldea Lunchtime. So I know it's possible. The question is whether or not my apples will suffice to do that. And also, free time to excessively grind is needed, of course.
As for the rest, I will try to listen to my friend who likes to say: "If you don't spend any real money on this game, you don't have any problem". So, bad luck in game or not, it's not much of a problem in a large scale of life. I tend to think that because I invest so much time & effort to do this, so it's more and more important to me, but and the end of the day it's just a game, intended for fun, not for your worries.

Hmm. I think it'd be better to save for King Hassan if you're in that much need of a buster assassin. He's so much better in everything but farming than Cleo. Problem is, he comes pretty soon after Merlin. Imo, save for Merlin cuz support trumps everything in this game(look at waver). As for mana prisms, I'm the same as you, I've only one copy and I'm halfway to getting a second. I'm kinda banking on the Christmas lottery to grind mana prisms. Back to the assassin problem(sorry my thoughts are all over the place. I'm tired), just keep going and the FP gacha until you get a decent assassin

Yeah, that banner would be a problem. If I even by chance will get Merlin, then probably I will have no quartz for Hassan. Sad thing :(. Maybe I will level up Cursed Arm or give assassin exp to my 74 lvl Liz then & rely on friend supports for assassin.
As for CE, well, I don't have a single copy, so my time with lottery will be a bit harder/tiring/whatever. But I survived a bit of Nero Fest in my early days and even got a 2 CEs from farming easy (I would consider myself to be decently lucky with dropped CEs from events if i wouldn't met Vlad in last event. That was hard, but I finally won Halloween Princess). So I might have a chance if I will grind more than in last lottery. Now I have max leveled up my starting servants at least, so I don't have to divide my attention to leveling them from ember quest for having more chances in regard clearing more difficult quests, like it was on last lottery.

Hey White, I just saw your question and rather then making you roll, I looked you up and Added you instead. I hope my Cleo (when I do level her, I only just got her) can help you out - otherwise, I have a small army of farmers who can wave wipe casters with no effort.
