Been saving for King Hassan, I've got 229 rolls saved up between SQ and tickets, but I thought I'd throw a couple tickets into the event summon to try and get a CE. Spent 3 tickets, and instead of any CE's, I got a Billy The Kid, a David, and to my surprise, new Vlad. Just wondering, is he actually any good of a servant?
Update: And then the daily Friend Point Free roll gave me a new CE. So, I got a new servant, and something to help me farm. Cool.
I just take a look at his stats and skill. Compare to other 4 star single target lancer(Kiyohime and Li Shuwen) he's weaker than both of them. You can set him as a tank or star generator using 2030 and his 3rd skill or as support servant to buff other servabt with that 2nd skill. His NP not bad though. Single target buster NP with ignore invincible and add extra damage to evil servants. Technically not bad but not that good too if you have shuwen or kiyohime.
Well, I don't have Li Shuwen, and I absolutely hate Kiyohime, so I didn't even bother trying to roll for her. I've already got a level 100 Scathach, so it's not like I "Need" vlad to be a good servant, I was just curious is all. I'll probably level him up regardless, since I don't have any other Lancers I want to level at the moment.
He's more into second/backup DPS also a tank who can provide stars and taunt is good.
Still, he is another durable DPS and pretty solid Buster ST Lancer ( Bonus damage against evil is nice ).
If anyone except you only have Vlad as their main Lancer, Vlad can still do as a main DPS.
From gameplay point i would not recommend raising him, because you already have that One Spear Woman in your Arsenal.
For me, i don't have Vlad but i wanna try using him as a hard to kill Star Generator. Good for challenge and harder content ( Vlad really suit my playstyle, especially with Hans Def up and Crit Star Gen ).
A tanky star generating attack servant sounds like a pretty good one to me, especially if it's Vlad The Impaler. And I mean, Scatchach's already fully raised, so I may as well raise him. I mean, what else am I going to do with all my Lancer embers and fous?
Well, if your arsenal have pretty much covered the Supp, Tank, ST and AOE ( Gameplay in general ) you can raise him for fun or as a backup for your main Lancer.
Though it's up to your choice.
I'll probably level him for fun, yeah. I like his design, and he is a gold border servant afterall. I got no sleep, so it just caused me to make a mistake and ask a dumb question (Not this one about Vlad), so I'm going to take a nap, and just pretend it didn't happen, and I wasn't a sleep addled idiot. I managed to get him at NP2 and i have Scathach but will still raise him. He looks to be well suited for hard content either as a main dps with Hans and Waver or as a secondary dps and star generator. Looking at his np gain and hit counts, he will have no problem filling his np gauge. He is good in my opinion, and I think gamepress put him wrongly in tier 3, he should be tier 2 at least.
He is a decent lancer.
Although honest speaking I really dislike his portrait (Wada please more females please), and his personality in Fate Extra.
But his kits are pretty solid.
Protection of the Faith is one best self-buff skill in the FGO world. Another famous servant has this skill is Grampa King Hassan.
His 3rd skill can also work in combo with Waver and Hans with his 1st skill, sometimes can even reduce enemy Archer's ST NP to a very tiny damage.
Also Lancer's low star weight make this skill has tactical value in some cases, like paired with Riders
So Vlad's play-style is more focusing on durable fight, as 2nd DPS. You cannot rely on his damage to be paired with Kiyo and Li Shuwen, but unlike previous 2 lancers, Vlad has pretty good for utility and decent NP damage. Which means sometimes he is great facing multi-class servants/mobs
His NP gain.. Well good for AQQe, but only 1 Art card is in fact common issue for lancers.
