Bring a hard hitting support saber? No bonuses most likely but most of the usable SSR sabers in the event have aoe NPs anyway so doesn't matter if you have them added or not. And you can have herc be your backline servant

So I made a second account and am trying to scramble through the event at the last minute. I initially started it with a level 30 Mash, a level 40 Martha (Ruler), and a level 40 Heracles being the only servants that I've leveled so far.
My initial plan was to push through to get Chloe, and then use the exp cards from the event shop to level her up as high as I can, then just have her carry me through the rest of the event. I figured that with her 100% bonus damage, she should be fine against buster bosses too.
It has been going pretty well, and I'm at Gilles right now. But it just occurred to me that Diarmuid is a lancer, and Chloe won't be able to handle him... So now I'm kind of pondering the best way to deal with this hurdle. I basically only have a handful of exp cards, plus the 50 from the mana prism shop at my disposal. And all I've got in the way of ascension/skillup materials is what I've obtained through the event, and what is available from the event shop. So I can either try to MacGuyver some type of solution that can actually beat Diarmuid, using the limited resources that are available to me... Or I could keep throwing myself at him, regardless of failure, and eventually take him down. What would you guys do?
My un-leveled servants, that could be useful for this, include: Illya, Medb, Mordred, and Hans. So I could either try to half-ass level a damage dealer, and then borrow a support. I could throw my remaining exp cards at Martha and borrow a support. Or I can try to half-ass level an NP2 Hans with no skillups, and borrow a damage dealer.

I wouldn’t say so. I was able to make my Artoria hit Diarmuid/Blackbeard for about 600k each in a single Noble Phantasm use
I second this. My Altera's deals 800k damage per NP to them with that said...she's been stalking me a few times so her NP is high xD
Naaah I’m saying Diarmuid is Bad Civilization and Blackbeard is Even Worse Civilization lmao
Don't think Diarmuid is bad civ though. He seems to be a poor warrior that's scared of girls though that saying.
Blackbeard is many people's spirit animal though xD
Yeah. Diarmuid’s a pretty, sad heroic spirit. I like him. He and Cu are the only 3* Lancers I’ve kept, seeing as Brynhild covers Lancer needs. I don’t see why they had to kick him even further while he’s down by making him unreliable in-game though. Dude was a beast in Zero
Blackbeard is sketchy AF. Every time he’s grins, I feel the distinct urge to call the police lol
Well JP getting a fate zero event rerun though. Come to think of it people are saying Saber Diarmuid is strong, I was wondering though.
About blackbeard I was honestly feeling weird that I equipped my jack with imaginary element and borrowed a waver just to kill him instantly lol
Rumors though. My friends playing JP said it would be either keyneth, some of them said it was Maiya but most of them agreed that it would be him or one of the Masters according to what they'd heard. The general consensus of us is of course Maiya since my friends are pretty big fans of hers xD
Dude I just checked on the Fate Wiki
Diarmuid has a second class tab now and it’s officially Saber. It doesn’t have a picture yet but it explicitly says that he’s a servant able to be summoned by the Protagonist in Grand Order
So it’s 100% true
Hold your horses for now. We don't know patiently wait lol. Are you sure it wasnt always there though.
Anyway joking aside plans on going to JP? Hahaha
Nah I like being able to read the material lmao
but still: Saber (セイバー, Seibā?) is a Saber-class Servant able to be summoned by the Protagonist in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order.
And, fun story: I actually did play the Japanese version for about 4(ish) months until FGO NA came out. Much like now, I had an affinity with Sabers. My main lineup was Nero Bride, Saber Lancelot, EMIYA, Mash, Tamamo, and I had an unranked Saber Lily and a Chevalier D’Eon in my backlogs
I ended up losing the account and didn’t restart until the NA version came out
What luck affinity with the strongest class...those that stick with me is Caster and Assassin. I like those servants coming from these classes anyway.
I see...so you used to play JP. That's amusing. So that means you've been playing since release or NA??
Didn't play FGO since I got traumatized losing all my in game money to PVP and having welfares as main line up my luck back then was shit lol and finally just discovered that they had Fujino as a servant in JP, but I missed it.
I really like Fujino, so I entered NA just for a chance of her.
Still if that's sure you have something to look forward to, right?
Yep! Haha Counting my Japan run, I’ve been playing in some capacity for a total of 2 years now. I can’t really explain my luck with Sabers either. I’ve noticed that novices tend to summon them in Holy Grail Wars so maybe that’s the game’s way of calling me a noob? Lmao
I feel that. Gacha games can be brutal like that but it’s always great to have a goal pushing you forward
lol Kerry isn't a noob nor is Sisigou isn't a noob though.
Rather than that I'm more a noob hahaha. I mean I've just been playing for 4 months since I just good a new phone just to run this lol.
Haaa...still it's quite far away, huh. KNK rerun with Fujino. Still if you jump to JP or if in case Saber Diarmuid appears I really wish you luck.
I mean, compared to the others that had been preparing for years/decades they were haha
And thanks. I think I’ll stay with NA. I already have a second account on NA that needs some attention so a third account would just make it worse haha
Good luck with your KnK roll
Honestly that 950k health is too huge for a half assed Damage dealer, so I'd just get a damage dealer and such slowly chip his health and kill him rather than a support. The only problem is carefully charging their NP or increasing their NP gain putting all offensive supports on them and finally letting it rip and killing them with ease.
Well come to think of it he's weak to buster so an Altera with tons of damage buffs or a saber alter could do it.
With that said want some help? My Altera's already NP3, so it would be enough...just ask if you want.
Thanks, if you don't mind, please add me. My ID is 421,414,579
My biggest concern about borrowing the damage dealer is that I don't really have anything to support it with, so I don't know how I'm going to keep her alive long enough for her to get her NP charged, and I don't really have any attack buffs to give her. Mash's unstrengthened, level 2 defense buff is basically nothing at all in a higher level fight like this, and I don't know that she will live long enough to get her NP off. I suppose that my best bet is to try to get Hans up, but his usefulness will be limited at NP2, with no skillups, and and whatever level I can actually get him to with my limited resources. This is probably my best option though.
Added level 62, right? Don't worry about it. Do you have some rider skill mats? Ushi's first skill that increases NP gain would slightly help, but yes do use Hans for it.
Good luck.
Thanks, that's me. Lol, unfortunately, I don't even have Ushi. I've only done like 30-35 gacha summons on this account, so there's a lot of basic stuff that I don't have. For some reason, the RNG gods decided to give me a bunch of gold servants and CEs, but not a lot of the staple stuff that a new account probably needs. I only just got Hans yesterday (my free FP 10 roll gave me 2 of him), otherwise he definitely would have been top priority on my to-do list.
Well just try it honestly. I suggest running the Atlas institute mystic code or the regular Chaldea for survival or if you're desperate for NP the Clock tower mystic code which is something I'll do if you can. Just like the guy below said Altera's enough. I think she'll deal about more or less 800k with her buffs alone and her high NP level you just need to deal with that 150k health after.
If it doesn't work tell me, and I'll put my MLB on Tama lancer since she's ST and deals more damage to males plus her NP gain is easy that as long she survives she could NP 2 or 3 turns after.
Yeah, I should have probably just given it a try, instead of worrying so much preemptively. It wound up pretty easy. I guess one should never underestimate a woman with sparkly bangs, very weird shoes, and a toned midsection.
Oh you finished it? How quick. Well see? I'm quite confindent of my civilization destroyer. You shouldn't really underestimate a chocolate with a disco stick xD
You dont have to find any support for that. In fact if you can manage a borrowed Artoria or Altera with MLB CE you can even just solo them. Off course it is required to have taunt unit and help charge Altera/Artoria's NP by using art chain in the first round. Also, dont forget decent Mystic code.
I use Artoria soloed Diarmuid and Blackbeard, and Altera soloed Diarmuid in the third account. They are just 6/6/6 yet.
Even Tamamo soloed Phantom, and lv61 4/4/4 Surfer-Mo soloed Testament (forgot soloing Gil).
I don't have any taunt units though. This is a fresh account, I literally made it like the day before Prisma started, so I haven't really done anything or gotten many servants yet. I just cleared Fuyuki, then I hit the ember gathering daily to get a few servants up high enough to do the first part of the event, and then I started working on the event.
You guys made a good point about both sabers' nps smacking him. I actually used a friend's Mordred rider to something similar against Gilles haha. Against diarmuid though I just used the nutcracker herself ^^ No class advantage? No problem. Just need a healthy dose of antimale buff on np.
High level Ibaraki solves all. Ibaraki is best banana that punches people with giant flaming banana fists for 500k damage. I breezed through literally everything in part 1 and 2 in less than 8 days with best banana.
