I mean it definitely helps with running team comps if you're missing a necessary ssr servant. If you don't want to use support characters, just stick the support slot in the very back of the team setup

aside from this prisma event where its limited time and i wouldnt be able to clear it solo cuz im new i really dont like using support characters. id rather clear things with the characters ive raised and put my effort into.

i mean, thats what i do. i just put them in the back. and i know it rounds out team comps. but part of the appeal of the game to me is that you dont always have the perfect thing and ive hopped around a few gatcha games at this point and i feel this one gives the most free stuff of value. its just so cool to me that if you put the effort into raising a lot of the low rarity servants they can make powerful teams in their own right
When I started I got turned off by using a level 90 support the first quest I did. It felt too easy. So since then the only time I relented was when I absolutely failed a story quest or event quest with my respective low servants. It taught me a lot about using my own units and their strengths and weaknesses as well as what was missing that I should roll for in future events.
Nowadays of course I use servants with appropriate CEs as support. The support is relagated to the 6th slot in the back row :p
Yeah. You could always use the Chaldea Combat Suit’s Switch skill to use three of your own servants
Don't waste the skill to move support, do that at party setup. Lower left of party settup has a "line up" button that allows you to move support to any slot except for the first. Note button only available when not in edit mode of selecting your servants and CE's.
Fair opinion, though I don't share it. I like the support system, I'm f2p and it gives me a chance to use servants I love who I otherwise could never hope to get (tfw assassin Shiki's event rerun will happen 2 years from now, if at all T_T). Though I will say that sticking a 10/10/10 Waver into any team I play does take away some of the fun, so I don't do that anymore lol
Agreed. Also gives you a chance to try out a new servant and see if you want to try to roll for them with your limited free sq when F2P.
For example, I absolutely hate Orion's battle animation and won't roll for her no matter what, but would try for Gil in a heartbeat. (not that rate up really means anything, got Arjuna and Jack when they were not rate up, so watch me get Orion because I angered the gatcha gods)
Yeah good point. I would not have known how much I'd like Jack if I hadn't used her first.
PS congrats on getting Jack from non-rateup, luckyyyyy
What zer0z said.
As for me...Idk. For new players, it’s a godsend tbh. I was far from an exception when I was a noob. Quite frankly, my local Support Heracles saved my ass until I got servants that I connected with and knew how to properly use
IMO, it does a lot to bolster cooperation with other players and the game would be somewhat more solitary than it already is without it.
Also, it lets me compare where my servant is at in terms of growth (My waver is solid but could use a decent bit of work compared to top wavers)
I guess it varies based on how you like to play.
That's cause waver needs 33 bloody hearts of the foreign god on top of everything else he needs lol. Mine is stuck on 6/6/6 both for the lack of qp and the lack of caster gold tokens. Eventually though I will most certainly be short hearts
Mine is at 3/5/8 because I’ve mostly been prioritizing his attack and defense buff.
This is the point where I'm likely going to prioritize the defense and attack up. At least as far as golden caster gems and heart usage goes. It would be hard to hold 33 hearts at once but I think I can collect enough over time (the book ex quest may help a little if it also has a demon boss!)
I’m clearing pretty quickly through the second part of the event. I know beating the Diarmuid raid gives you 5x Heart of the Foreign God or whatever it’s called
I’m about to start on him, I just have to beat 4 more male servants and then I’ll have him done+ 90 missions will have been cleared so I can NP4 my Chloe before going into the final raid
Dang you're going all out. I'm still trying to save what apples I have left for Nero fest xD like if I'm gonna apple for this event I'll do it at the very end if it gets tight. Just completed phantom just now. 3 to go
Dude tbh I need this NP5 ST Arts Archer to make up for no Archuria lol
I’m through phase 1 of Testament. And, uh, not gonna lie; Unless there’s something amazing in NeroFest that I don’t know about, I’m taking the bench on the next one lol. Like I might do a little but the grind on this one has me burned out haha
Well, the support system lets me use the servants that I love but don't have.
Didn't really think too much about it back when I was new, I just always used the story support servant in story modes coz it gives me the feeling of actually playing the story(aside from the fact that I didn't know you could move the support slot back until I got to Okeanos)
While I do share the sentiment of using servants I've raised and put my effort into, I want to use servants I love more than the ones I've put effort into. That's liek looking at your own Caesar hitting stuff vs having a support kawae Saber Lily hitting stuff. 'course I want Saber Lily in my screen more.
As a f2p + D rank luck, I've already resigned myself to the fact that I won't be getting all the servants I want so the support system helps me with that.
it's a mixed bag, sometimes I love using double tamamo other times I just get frustrated with it messing up an otherwise perfect team comp by refusing to show a servant that I know is available or a CE that I know I have access to, i.e. an LMB event CE
Refresh hell
Srsly tho I would trade all planned QOL updates in exchange for a back button on the command card screen and an option to search friends on your support list by name, or at the very least filter for specific servants/CEs.
