NP2 and support servant suggestion

So I decided to skip Archuria because I already have Orion and Chloe is coming up, but did a yolo roll for the CEs and well....the irony. I do like Squirtle but now I feel like I'm in a predicament.

1.) Do I try to get her to NP2 to make her better than my Orion and future Chloe as well as offset her demerit? How important is it?
2.) Do I try to roll for Tamamo Caster now or continue saving for Merlin?

I do like the art crit spam concept as I did that with Orion during challenge quests which really saved my hide. I know I could always use a friends support tamamo or Merlin but I'd like at least one of either for those moments when you can't use friend support.

Personally more a fan of Merlin than I am of Tamamo, but more a fan of art than buster. Ironically, I was blessed with cu alter and jalter so it seems like the gacha gods want me to go with buster memes. So turn right now.

For the first question let's see. It's not so important unless you want to NP every turn. She gains it like nothing and so it isn't really much important, bit it's there to balance her out since she can gain so much NP.
For the second question. Do you already have her? Still with cu alter and Jalter I'd go for Merlin still. Why? His NP buffs could stack and could literally spam it. Charging your NP and getting stars wouldn't be hard anymore which is why quick became a meme. I'd say just go for Merlin since there's quite a few tamamo out there for support and she's a lot more available due to being in the story and more gachas and Merlin if I remember was out two or three times only.

Dunno what you really want but this is my opinion.

Memelin actually just eliminates the need for strategy :( "Here just have some memes you don't need a star gen. Need to charge up your np? Forget using your arts cards or a CE, here's a Memepe-i mean my np that will charge it for you and stacks with my own passive so I can almost spam it" It's almost sad.

So I ended up doing another yolo roll and got a second copy of her. I think I used up all my luck and I'm afraid to go out doors now haha. So this has now turned into a who is better support for me? Tamamo or Memelin. Given my other two damage dealers I'm thinking still Merlin

You're right with that happily embrace Merlin and roll for Tamamo for other times. She appears many, many times honestly so you have lots of chances, but if you want to run double Merlin? No, no you have only 2 or 3 times. Go for Merlin.
