I'm curious to hear from other P2Ps on how long you've been spending on the game, why you started spending in the first place, how much you've spent (if you're comfortable sharing that), and how you decide how much money you want to allocate to FGO. For instance, do you put a portion of each paycheck toward FGO? Do you identify which banners you want to roll on and set a limit for how much you spend on each banner? Have you ever gotten upset at yourself for how much you've spent?
I was heavily invested in the Fate franchise and greater Nasuverse, so I started playing the game at launch, dropped off around Nerofest, and rejoined just before Journey to the West started. I bought my first $80 quartz pack during Onigashima, another during Camelot Rate-Up #1, and one more during the Guaranteed SSR Banner ( I rolled Medb, when I already had Ozy :/ ).
Sometimes I feel stupid for spending $80 at a time on this game because I could buy a brand new PS4 game for less than that. But, then I think about the backlog of games that I've purchased and don't have time to play (looking at you, Monster Hunter World, Nier Automata, and Detroit Become Human), and I don't feel as bad.
Additionally, have you noticed that your luck has dramatically improved ever since you started buying quartz? It's just anecdotal and it's hard to identify what is coming from improved luck vs. just rolling more times, but since I started spending, I've pulled Minamoto-no-Raikou, Ozy, NP3 Nitocris, Saberlot, Da Vinci, Altera, Tristan, and a bunch of good five-star CEs, like Fragment of 2030. I ask because if I were a game developer whose only way of monetizing this game was by selling currency that only improved (didn't even guarantee!) players' odds of getting a rare card, I would absolutely build in a mechanic that guaranteed them an SSR (or at least dramatically improved their odds of getting one) if they spent a certain amount, since I'd want to convince players that buying more quartz is worthwhile and prevent players from getting discouraged if they spent a lot and didn't get any good cards.
