For P2P player, when do you call a stop to rolling?

Being trying to get Da Vinci since day 1 but a few rolls later, I got a few good SSRs but just not her. I hv been resisting hard to roll for her again but given that I hv less than 24 hrs left...the temptation is high.
Fellow p2p players, can share your experience on how u resist or at what point you stop rolling for someone you wanted....rationale is telling me I need to save for subsequent banners...

I set myself a spending limit and then stick to it.

In saying that I also never aim for SSRs (but have gotten lucky on many occasions) and tend to only aim for SRs

Basically just what this guy says, its all in having self control and not throwing more money at it and rationalizing it by saying "Well I already spent money on it". Personally I make a top 10 most wanted servants list and take a percentage of each pay for them. There's no trick to stop, just willpower.

I think your statement "I have already spent money on it" is spot on....Will erase that fr my vocabulary of self rationalisation

So I’m not F2P myself, but even I will set a limit as to how many SQs I’m willing to spend to get a Servant. Some of the answers seemed to ignore your F2P caveat. So if you really are, you have to look at it from a couple different ways.

Obviously you have a finite amount of SQs to work with (for the most part) so you have to determine how important the Servant you’re rolling for is to you. No servant is absolutely necessary to get through the game in anyway, so I’d first base it on how badly you really want them. If they’re your favorite and are a limited time banner and won’t be added to the mix post banner, then I don’t think you should feel guilty throwing as many as you want at them/ if they’re going to be added permanently after their rate up banner, then I would set a smaller limit and remember you may always get lucky and draw them during another banner,

But don’t always hold back if you really like a servant just cause you’ll want some others down the line. 1) there will ALWAYS be another servant you want. The game will make sure of that lol. 2) there is no certainty that you will get the next servant you want either. One thing I constantly read from supposed F2P players is that they are saving some SQs for someone later down the line (usually Merlin) and that they are going to get him/her cause they love em or it fits their team well, but if you’re really F2P, you’re most likely NOT going to get that servant. People always say how they can’t believe they didn’t get so and so after 100+ SQs...sadly that’s not very many lol. People have used thousands to roll for specific servants and don’t get them. It’s not meant to sound as a bummer, but a reminder to just go after the ones you like. If you don’t get lucky, they’ll end up in your friends support or you can request someone who has em. So if you really like DaVinci then don’t feel bad going all out for her. Like I said, the odds of getting the servant you want are always so low anyhow so you might as well go for them when they are rate up. And like you said, you got some other good ones along the way so that’s a huge plus!

I usually buy one of the large SQ bundles a month, that way I can at least have some rolls for banners I like and bank heavily for future ones if nothing good is currently up. For me, I’m super excited for the summer banners. I haven’t rolled on anything for awhile now as there isn’t anyone I’ve wanted or needed, so I’ve got 440 SQs banked for the summer banners. But I’m also aware that I may not get many or even any when the time comes, but those are the servants I’m excited for so I’ll use all thebSQs I’ve got and hope for the best. Sorry, long ramble just to say go for who ya like and don’t feel bad cause you did lol! And I wish you the best of luck on your roll! Sometimes those last day yollo rolls can really be lucky!!

Um dude, great stuff, agreed mostly with what you said but the guy said he was P2P, not F2P....

Also, yes, there have been people who have spent thousands without getting anything they wanted, and it's common enough to be kinda depressing, but it's still a pretty small minority. For most players, about 400-500 quartz is enough to reasonably expect to get a rate-up SSR. It's a lot, but honestly not hard to save up if you're frugal with your quartz.

Wow...bad reading on my part haha!! I’m so used to that question coming from F2P that I think my mind skimmed right past it lol! But at least my advice still pretty much holds up the same either way lol.

I totally agree. If you go in with 400 SQs on an SSR banner you’ll usually go away with that servant. I just don’t like the posts where people complain that they used 90 SQs and didn’t get the servant. You’d need a lot of luck for that to work out for you more than maybe once and then they want to quit the game cause it’s a rip off. Those posts are always just annoying. It’s always disappointing when you don’t get the servant you want no matter how much you spend, but when the odds are 0.002 or whatever, 3 rolls probably won’t get you there lol. As a P2P player I always look at how much I play the game and compare it to something for my PC/console. If I’ve been playing it a bunch that month I don’t ever feel bad throwing 60 bucks or so at it when a normal PC game would run me that much and get paid less. Just never spend more than you can afford. Sounds so simple but I’ve see a lot of people eat into their bill money for games. And if I’m just having terrible draws, I’ll usually stop trying any pulls till a new banner comes around

Yes, I was from console gaming but work commitment rendered my consoles in a state of dust collection at home. Now I only have time for mobile games and being a Fate series lover, FGO just hit the sweet spot so all my game budget now goes into that. But yes, i need to exercise some self discipline though....for the past week I think i have spent almost $400 but just cant get Da Vinci or Cu alter for that matter. Yes, and that is a signal to stop. I shd be happy with what i have gotten including Jeanne, Tesla x2, Altera, Nightingale, Altria Lancer and Vale III ..all within the past one week plus a bunch of other 4 stars.

Not gonna lie, gave in to the urge to roll cu Alter and just spent 51 free quartz. Wasted them all of course, not a single gold card lol. I realise that the rates are extremely low, but I think I can now empathise with the people who complain after getting nothing for a few quartz lol. No matter how much I understand the low rates, disappointment is disappointment lol.
