I just wanna know if Cu Lancer is going to get any buffs or quests in the future?
I heard that as the story progresses he becomes less and less useful due to poor damage.

I actually started playing FGO only coz of the memes of how badass he is in game as compared to his other appearences, I recently levelled him up to 70 and was thinking of grailing him.
It is quite sad that he hasent got any buffs lately. Maybe he is doomed to fend off himself in the E luck department again.
Regardless of strengthening, it is true that currently in JP he isn't considered particularly useful due to his low damage. He takes far too much time to kill bosses and can't reliably maintain his defensive buffs anymore.
Serious question, not meant as snark: If that's the case, who *can* reliably maintain their defensive buffs?
I'll agree that his damage should be buffed, no arguments there- but everything I read and see seems to acknowledge that he is still among the most durable servants in the game.
"Sure Hit" might be a bit more common than "Pierce Invulnerability", but not by such a whopping margin, and he still has Guts as a safety net, whereas many don't. Evades are surely still plenty useful. And sure, debuffs are more common, but then you just have to look at "Disengage." I think if he's having problems maintaining defense, surely plenty have it worse.
Oh yeah, he's still more durable than most. My point was that his durability used to carry him despite his relatively low attack, since for many fights he could actually manage to get the enemy's HP to zero while consistently maintaining his defenses the whole time. When the bosses eventually get multiple massive health bars, his defensive buffs aren't enough to carry him as well anymore since he needs to keep it up for much longer, and that's when his lower damage output gets to be more of a hindrance. At that point, defensive support options like David or Mash tend to do better since they can buff their whole team too.
@zer0z
Yeah, no disagreement from me on that front. It's that "ironclad defense" vs. "the greatest defense is actually an overwhelming offense" kind of thing in the game, now.
Yeah, and his kit has always been in that grey area between, "self-sufficient" or "self-ISH"? If his solo-ing seems markedly slower now due to stagnant offensive capabilities in a game whose bosses are getting higher HP and more break-bars, it starts looking more on the selfish side, 'cause he's less persuasive as a last-resort, which is his utility to the team. So now what?
Though, I still disagree with most overall about just how much his role has been diminished (it seems that I never heard too much about this until Appmedia kicked him down the memelist, for instance) I can still acknowledge that to keep his reputation in the new meta....
Give that Old Dog some new tricks, DW.
He faithfully served, solo'd, and saved ass for many masters for the first couple of years of FGO; don't let him slip through the cracks! Give that man some Quick-Up, or an NP Refund/Generation bump, and/or some Pierce Invul/Sure Hit, or perhaps a hit-count-up skill like Musashi or sum'n. He innately has one of the better damage multipliers as a Lancer- thus, it shouldn't be too tough getting him his spot back with a well-though-out boost.
Yeah, I think tier lists end up having a decent amount of sway over peoples' opinions on servants. If someone has a 10/10/10 Cu its still worth using him, but he does really need a buff. He's one of the more popular characters too, so here's hoping.
Poor Cu, since the time I began playing I always thought his normal damage, Np gain, and his NP damage all seem to be quite low, but I was hoping maybe he will get some buffs in the future but I think you cannot stall E rank luck forever. Poor Cu always gets stabbed in the back
Nothing yet. He is one of the unfortunate ones whose hype has made DW feel like they don't really need to touch him. I think his usefulness diminishes a LOT less than some people might think, though; and that's also a while away, people are only really starting to complain about it just now in JP.
He's also someone that really should receive grails to compensate for his stats, anyways, if you want him to mop up tough bosses like he's known for doing.
But he does -deserve- a buff. Something to either boost his NP gain (Gae Bolg is supposed to be spammable,) his Quick Damage, or at the very least attaching a Pierce Invulnerability to his NP.
There are many true-to-lore avenues that they could take that wouldn't make him completely broken.
I always wondered why they never gave his np a " sure hit" buff since it supposedly never misses/always pierce the targets heart when thrown
When I started the game I actually believed that At NP5 and 500% charge he causes certain death to any or all enemy including bosses due to the info on his NP. But it seems like apart from carrying newbies like me he wont be of much use to veterans and advance stages.
@Zeta
I think that's overstating it just a bit. It really doesn't start becoming a really apparent flaw until a bit later down the line... like, 1 1/2 to 2 years down the line.
He is still very, very useful for the time being. Many veterans of the game on my friends list have been finishing grailing him to 100, and he was still solo-ing Raikou and Ibaraki just a month ago. Hell, Honako still solos with his in JP now.
Don't be so quick to let what is happening in JP effect your opinion of your current roster in the NA Meta.
This happens often anyways, servants dominate for a while, new ones challenge their niche, the old ones get some rest, and then something in the game stirs everything up and your old favorites are suddenly looking brand new.
Cu could get a strengthen, we could get the hallowed "Quick Support!", or enemies could just start behaving differently. But again, in NA, FSN Cu still stands out heavily among the 3 Stars, and will for a while.
