Playing this game for over 2 months (ended London, still have FQ to do someday), and honestly, trying (and usually failing epic level) to get any Claws of Chaos (for Cu and Herc 3rd ascensions, and Leonidas 2nd one), Serpent Jewells (Carmilla 2nd Ascension) and Seeds of Yggdrasil (Robin, Cu Caster, Proto-Cu and Cu) is extremely tiring and frustrating, to a point I am starting to feel more and more disincouraged from playing as avidly as I did in the begining. I am the only one with this problem?
Spent 2 days farming those cursed seeds in Bordeaux, and got nothing but blue gems and *1 embers, for example... And I need 27 of those on some of my mains overall...have all the embers, the pieces, the servants I wanted, but the damned mats just don't drop. Period.
What to do?
Also, kinda related, but do any Dragon Reverse Scales and Hearts of Foreign Gods droping locations actually even exist?! They can be found literally nowhere so far in the maps or the chaldea gates, not a single one...
Every mat is hard to farm, that's why people make a big deal about clearing out event shops. And you can farm hearts/scales in the dailies, but the drop rates are awful.

Which daily has any chances of giving the scales/hearts?
Going all out in the shop for items has a chance of letting me without copies of wellfare and buyable CEs who can make the farming of event currency less huge, right? Oh, well, maybe I should farm this time (summer) and go deep in the event just in the rerun =/
Also, my strongest servants are a lv51 Herc and a lv49 Ridertoki (majority of party stuck on lv 40 because of the damn items), will I be able to farm the Summer event that well?

I don't know about the summer event specifically (I only play NA). But in most events, after you get the CEs/Wellfare, you can buy out mats with just a couple apples.
As a new player, it really takes time. Bulk mats can be bought to events and they have good drop rates compared outside of events. Take a look at the link kaiten mentioned, and you'll see that Bordeaux has low drop rate of seeds even it has second best AP per drop.
The feeling mutual. I'm low on rocks and gears. It difficult to clear the shop if you don't have the event CE, I pretty much watch the currently to slowly climb up like a snail.
The only advice I can provide for rn is to wait for events or keep on farming. Events have higher drop rates for ascension items and they can be found in shops. As for everything else:
- Scales are dropped by Fafnirs, dragons, and basmus so the best place is rider training ground. The drop rate is super low so I reccomend waiting for events
- Foreign god hearts are dropped by demons, which are in Caster training grounds. This is also super low so events are better

I recommend waiting for events also but if you need one of two materials to ascend a servant, you can farm it from free quests. If you need 10 or more, events is better (And for Scales & Hearts, every event has a node to farm it, with a better drop rate than the training grounds).
And for Claws, there is a better place to get them in America.
hearts, no, scales, definitely not realistically. For the most part, a lot of rarer ascension materials come from events. I'd suggest that you just save embers and farm skill gems or qp for the future over some materials like serpent jewels.
A lot of better farming locations for rare materials come with later singularities so you'll just have to deal with it for now.
It's always like that when starting out. There would be lots of servants you want to level/skill up/ascend but lack the mats to do so.
Just bear with it for a while, and wait for events instead. Events give the best mat-per-ap ratio and also always have better drop rates (for specific mats) compared to free quests and dailies.
After a few events, you'll have an abundance of materials (aside from really high demand stuff like Void dust, fangs, etc) with no one to spend them on. For reference, I have more than 100 of both hearts and reverse scales. Granted, I did start at launch and participated in a lot of events, but you get the idea.
If you want to ascend a Servant asap, then head to the dailies. They have better rates imo, just remember to check the drop sheet for NA to know which dailies drop which.
For hearts and scales, they are found on 30-40 AP Caster and Rider nodes respectively. They have abysmal rates so prepare for some mind numbing farming. Events usually have either, so it's also better to buy out an event shops stock than grind on dailies.
Wait for event. Almost all event give me tons of mats after grinding for days. Of course I spend all of them in minutes. Because of ascension?
No pal. There is something called as levelling up skill to 10, now that's what I called as "Hard". Or should I say "time consuming and ridiculously almost impossible unless I have unlimited amount of money and work professional as FGO player with YouTube as my wife and social media as my family, with virtual waifu and repetitive battle that I keep playing on and on for 8hours/day). Jk.
Even though I am a F2P and I relatively new in this game (3.5 months), I feel happy and I doubt I will leave this game for the next few months. You want to know why? Because I love Fate series. THAT is number one reason most of us stay and spend in this game. If you are looking for gameplay, this game is probably not for you. I mean, seriously, if I want to have "real fun" moments I am going to play Fortnite or PUBG from my phone, like literally now. But no, I love the Fate Universe and somehow this game has great storyline too, so I always have great expectation about what's next on the campaign.
So... I understand your point of view. But now, I want you to give the game a chance. If you enjoy it, go ahead and play it. There is no reason to rush because this ain't competitive, you may play once a day, once evey hour, or maybe you can quit and come back in a month or two and still enjoy the game.
If I keep thinking on "Ooooh I need to get my waifu on the next banner!!!" Or "Oh my Raikou should be MAX 10/10/10 by next month because I have Ozy waiting next". Well... That is pretty stressful. It's okay to have clear goals in mind, but if you can't handle it just take it easy. Let say that all of us are going to rush all of the mats... I am pretty sure most of us will gone crazy.
You may ask again... Why people gone crazy? Check out some of player profiles here. Click their name. And check out their "total required materials". Tbh, my head want to blow if I see those numbers. But nah... I am just going to enjoy this game, slow but sure.

As someone who's played since day one and experienced similar things along the way, I can just tell you: it gets better, at least concerning mats. Because, we basically get 1-2 events a month, with an event shop that hosts most of these hard to farm materials and while it might be hard to clear everything at first, use some apples to try to clear the shop, it's really worth it in the long run. For example, I've got 20 5* now, all of them max ascended with decently lvld skills (most skills are 7 or higher), quite a number of max ascended 4* and some 1-3 stars as well and still ALWAYS have 20-40 Scales, Talons, Hearts and all the other stuff in my inventory, which I don't even get to use, cause I don't have the EXP cards to get all my servants to the point where they need them. So, as I said: the shortage of mats (Jewels, Ascension mats, you name it) gets better, the everlasting shortage of QP and EXP cards on the other hand, well, that's a whole other story....
I've been playing for about a 40+ days and most of my golds (all 4* btw) have reached lvl cap 70 or more. Only thing I did was farming kintoki event til I got all his ascension mat and cards. Already reached camelot too. Going through the story nets me quite a lot of ascension mat as well. Farming free quest is a pain so I don't do it.
