Should I roll for MHXA or Dantes

For farming, Dantes is obviously better because of his AoE NP. For challenge however, MHXA would be better because hers is ST (adding the fact that she also is a Berserker and has extra damage versus Saber classes). Imo, it's better to roll for MHXA since you already have JAlter, but if you're in need for AoE NPs then Dantes would be good. Also, Skadi won't be coming in another year so there really isn't a need to rush. Personally, I'll be rolling for MHXA for waifu purposes.

Gameplay wise it's Dantes, if you also planned to roll for Skadi. But if you don't, MHXA is better.

For Challenge quest or harder contents or etc it is still depend on us as their master, being AOE doesn't mean you can't kill enemy with 1 Million HP ++ or that unit only useful for farming. Multiple enemy bosses is the main job for servants like Gilgamesh and Dantes.
For example, i used Gilgamesh to destroy Camelot, Babylonia, Nerofest 2018 and much more untold stories because he is a very strong Buster servant in the first place.

Servants like Dantes + Skadi can almost destroy everything on JP now, same with Gilgamesh, Achilles, Raikou, Ishtar, Tesla if you can pair them with the right set up.
They're all AOE servants !

AOE servants has a different job too, one is a wave clearer and one is a semi-supp and one is boss killer or for daily farming.

Mind you Gilgamesh, Ishtar and mentioned AOE servants can take 3 roles at the same times, same with Dantes and Skadi ( ST, AOE and farm ) because their kit is simply ridiculous or far above the other AOE servants.

The most knowned jp tier list(App Media Tier List) compares everyone at NP5, that is why Dantes is soo good for farming, but unless your Dantes is at least NP3-4 (3 is a maybe will kill everyone) he will not do very much, even more at NP1 since NP1 to NP2 is a bigger difference. MHXA is a chuunibyou cute sith lord, do you need anymore reason to roll for her?She is very good at being supported and if properly managed can be a berserker for longer fights, will do good damage to sabers with her overcharge.
