Is it even worth concidering putting like two or three grails on em?
And then another thing regarding Cu.
I build up the proto one now, haven't leveled his skills but he is level 60 now. I like the OG Cu more, but I didn't have him back than. Is there any reason to train up the original Cu Chulainn over the proto one, given how similair they are?
Yes for grailing. If you will be using them often, why not?
You might not realize, but the 2 Cu are about the only good st damage dealers for f2p not counting jaguar who is story locked. So, unless you have gold lancers, raising og cu should be worthwhile.
Got a Vlad III and Karna, but given the team sizes (and how fun it is to switch up teams) picking Cu might not be too hard.
The real question is the worth of Kojiro. A unit with amazing skills (in theory) but just rock bottom stats.
Funnily, I did use him to solo Fergus from 100k to 0 today by getting was too lucky on necromancy. (the rest of the team got killed)
For your question, Proto Cú Chulain is the critical damage Lancer, his 3rd skill is much better in teamplay compared to OG Cu, who is specialized in Solo Challenge. For Grailing, it is better (gamelay-wise) to grail 4 star servants to maximize their stat gain, but for many people (including myself), grail whom you love. I grailed Og Cú to lvl 90, his stats are kinda low, but he will get the job done (without dying :>)

Probably will keep proto Cu then, he indeed seems to be just a nice unit in general, even if he won't deal the raw damage of a 4-5* servant.
I just feel like grailing 5* servants is a quite a bit high cost, low gain even if they're overall stronger that 3* Servants.
Using grails on low rarity servants:
They will still be weaker than other servants of higher rarity at the same level, but it will allow you to use them more often for challenging content at all. So if they are your favorites and you want to use them more, you should go for it. I also grailed my FSN Cu :)
FSN Cu and Proto Cu have slightly different roles. FSN Cu can survive almost everything which is great for challenging content. Proto Cu can deal more damage if you use critical stars right.
Proto-Cu causes more dmg with his crits (who become way more consistent after the Strenhtening quest), and to kill Chimeras fast.
OG Cu is harder to kill, and good for backline.
Grail Kojirou once, as he is 1*, the first grail is going to give him extra 10 levels, 2-grail Og Cu for extra survivability to 80.
I would not grail 5*s, such low gain (2 levels/grail), unless is a berserker, ruler or avenger. Now, THOSE are worthy (1.1X dmg multiplier means more on that little gain, berserkers NEED desperately more HP).
If you dont have nay 4* maxed you wanna grail, I recomend those 3 grails I mentioned.
Grails should be used on characters that make you happy, as you dont need servants tnat are max grailed to complete content. I've got a friend thats maxed out his kojiro to the limit, and I'm more impressed with him than my max merlin friends.

I have one grail on kojirou and it does help him a lot. I stopped playing with him for a while after getting jack, but I pulled him out again recently and he is still fun to use, especially after the strengthening quest that added the star gathering to his 3rd skill. Makes it really tempting to grail more...but then I got np2 jack...
Grailing is for love. Grail the hell outta Kojibro and Cùckroach if you like them. The game can be mostly cleared with 1-2 stars servants, just check ''MAceOfHearts'' youtube channel, he's been doing 1-2 stars (He did have to use 3 stars for Nerofest's last day though) clears for a while now! So yeah, grail them if you like them, don't if you're not sure!
Proto Cu is way more on offense than OG Cu. I prefer Proto in terms of gameplay, though I still prefer OG doggo in other Fate works ^^ He'll be less tanky, but damn can he slap hard with crits.
