Grinding/farming events

I'd have to disagree. Events are *the way* to get skill/ascension mats. For example, while it is true that Hearts drop at 338 AP/drop in the current event vs 600+ at the next best location, that understates the event rewards. This is because by farming the event you can get 10 Hearts out of the shop. Also, just to be able to unlock the Expert level free quest that drops hearts, you would have to commit to at least a small amount of grinding (probably using around 150-200 AP)--and by doing that, you get another guaranteed 3 Heart drop for this event.

By grinding this Moon Goddess event (just using natural AP) for the week, I expect to get: 13 Hearts, 20 Claws, 20 Feathers, 20 Pages, 100 4* EXP, 100 MP (from the 100 3* EXP), and at least 30 Monuments and probably some Pieces. The amount of grind you'd have to do outside of an event to get the mats is probably around 10 times what I'll spend here.

But that said, it doesn't come without a fair bit of dedication, and that is a complaint I have about the game. Events are **so** good for mats (as well as getting welfare servants who they make available with NP5, though not the current event) that no doing them seems to be a waste. But yet, the amount of play you have to devote is not small, and it's not even able to be done slowly. Most events run only a week, some two. And it's often the case that you need to devote not only 100% of your natural AP to it, but also apples.

For example, last year when I was new, I only casually did the event that gave you Kintoki (Rider). But I didn't understand that welfare servants are only ever obtainable in the event, so I didn't get his extra copies to NP+ him. Also, I didn't understand that his ascension mats are also event-restricted, so I didn't get any, and thus he's stuck at NP1 at L40. Luckily, there will be an event rerun where I can correct this, but if I miss that (or if there wasn't a rerun), he'd essentially be this great servant stuck in a useless state forever.
