Hey everyone, i've just started playing FGO today and i got first hassan on my first single summon(ikr, i'm surprised AF when that happened). Is he good? And as a newbie, whats the main thing that i need to focus on? Thanks in advance.
He's pretty good, but not newbie friendly, because his material requirement is really gross (you need to play the Babylonia Singularity to get some of newer mats that he used unless you can patiently wait for certain events that sell those mats).
As for newb advices, I don't know for sure. Just have fun with your servants. Grind on dailies gate may be a good start, after that, do the story for some point.

As a new player, you should raise up your servant's levels. To do that, you need exp cards, qp and ascension materials. This website is excellent for finding that info out. What is your in-game-name? You can add me 244,887,675

Level up your sevants. Use the tier list on this site to give yourself an idea of whose helpful.
Yes king Hassan is good. Try to level him up. He's going to be really usefully to you in Orleans.
When I was a newbie, I somewhat ignored the events because I was focused on the main story, but in hindsight, that's a bit of a mistake. Events are the easiest way to get some mats as well as an occasional 4* welfare servant, so it's worthwhile to try them once you get decently leveled. Plus, clearing the main quests of the event will generally get you something, e.g. the one coming up hands out summon tickets, and other hand out apples. (BTW, don't use apples until you have a good master level, at least 80 or so, because the amount of AP you get depends on what your full AP bar is, and no point in getting just 40 AP for a golden apple when later it'll be worth about 120 at level 100).
Even if you can't ascend him yet (like others have said), try levelling him up as far as possible, he will be a big help for the story for a good while.
And don't forget to check which skills seem useful to you and level them up if possible, they really help a lot. Btw Mash is great, level her as far as possible too.
