Spent about 350 SQ on Merlin and got absolutely nothing, which kind of sucked. Put me in a little bit of a predicament for this guaranteed gacha.
Current Servants (Ones I consider at least half decent):
Sabers: Nero Bride, Lancelot, Brave Elizabeth, and Caesar
Archers: Chloe, Robin, and Euryale
Lancers: Fionn, Jeanne Alter Santa Lily, Cu, and Proto Cu
Riders: Mary and Anne, Santa Altria, Ushiwakamaru
Assassins: Cursed Arm, Serenity, Fuuma, Hundred Personas
Casters: Andersen, Halloween Elizabeth, and Medea
Berserkers: Heracles, Kiyohime (Grailed to 90), and Lu
Extras: None other than Mash
I'm can get by with most of my classes, but the classes I'm fairly weak in are assassins and casters. My current assassins are extremely mediocre and, while Andersen is great, I feel like I should be trying to get a better support caster.
I'm just not sure which one I should go for. Should I go for the Assassin/Extra (I'm okay with Jeanne too) and just try to make do with friends' casters, or should I attempt to get one for myself?

There will always be a plethora of support casters to borrow, and you can get by just fine with that, though you can have greater flexibility with your own. I'd probably go with assassin in your place hoping for Jack, or maybe a 4* assassin too.
I have the opposite opinion. You have a lot more flexibilty if you rely on your own support, and use friends for damage dealers. This is because otherwise, there are a lot of situations to cover, and you can't cover them all. Need a Herc with a bond 10 CE? Unless you have him yourself, you can't get both a Waver/Merlin and a Herc from friends.
This worked pretty well for me, since I managed my way all the way through Babylon with Hans primarily, and Georgios to tank some final battles. The only problem was when friends either didn't have the servant I wanted, or maybe the right CE. I remember when I actually wanted a Waver with a NP charge CE, and all I had were ones with the bond CE...
With Nero Bride and hans, I would say that you don't need to roll for more Support, though it is always welcomed to have one.
Btw the gap between Jack and the lower rarity Assassins is super huge, and it seems like both Jack and Jeanne will be able to work well with Nero Bride as well - I would go for Assassin banner.
While I loved Hans (he carried me through Babylon), I think there's a lot to be said to get Waver for his teamwide (plus ST) NP charge skills, which Hans doesn't have at all, and Nero Bride just having a NP gain buff (ST, on a long CD) instead of a straight charge. Not to mention strategies that rely on a double-Waver...
If I were you, i will roll for casters because you seriously need your own support; either waver or Tanamo would be a great addition for you. Even if you ended up rolling for Sanzang, you still have a great buster ST caster.
The other banner has a 50% chance to spook you with Jeanne, and even though she is great but probably wont be what you need for now (her greatness only comes later after her interlude). If you need assassin, you can easily borrow a gd one from your friends. But a good support caster of your own goes a long way in harder contents.
