GSSR Advice: Yes, another one
I'm sure you've seen a few too many of these, but I'm jumping on the trend: I've been F2P ever since I made my account back in... must have been November 2017, since the GUDAGUDA was running when I made the account. I've been pretty lucky with my rolls, and other than missing Nobunaga and Ryougi (Assassin), I've picked up all the welfare 4 stars (plus Herc from the gimme that one time). But now that the GSSR event is happening - and I know what that means now - I'm tempted to put a bit of cash in to pick something up. So, who do you recommend? My posse of SR and SSR shown in the image below (including best kouhai Mash and a grailed Cu).
Right now, I'm leaning towards Lancer or Caster. Assassin+ is tempting, as I have no Ruler and only Scathassassin, but I've got a couple of Support Jacks, and I'm holding out hope for Grampassassin later in the year.

Because only you know what you want out of a team. Only you know what is fun to play for you. No one here will ever be able to answer that question.
I'd say most people seem to agree that the assassin/extra banner will yield the most valuable servant in terms of gameplay. Saber and Archer banners yield the least valuable, with everything else being mixed.
I definitely think that either Jack or Jeanne will bring something unique to your roster compared to other banners, though the berserker banner would be kind as well.

I don't think I know enough about team composition to have a real strong opinion on what's fun to play or what I want out of a team. Most of the time I just do class advantage, I haven't dug that deep into the strategy yet, but I'd like to set myself up for it - otherwise I wouldn't be asking.
But I think the replies agree on Assassin+, and while I hold out hope that gramps will come home, I should be realistic about it.

But only you know what you find fun though? Like, you could easily grab a Waver or Merlin, then add another one from the friend list and cheese your way through everything with these two + any buster member but personally I wouldn't find that fun because there's zero thought that goes into a comp like that.
Assassin/extra is the safest banner, caster has the best servants in terms of added value to gameplay, and rider is considered a good one too. Cu Alter is in the berserker banner, which I imagine is the reason most are rolling it, lancer is fairly good, and archer and saber are the weakest that people should only pick either to get some servant they like or to round out their chaldea lineup. The choice is yours on which one you want. If you are only considering gameplay, go caster and hope for waver. If you want to avoid disappointment, go assassin/extra.

Your mistake is that you think I know what I find fun.
I do not. Maybe buster spamming my way through everything is a lot of fun. I wouldn't know, because I haven't tried enough stuff yet and am open to suggestions. Hence this entire post.
Nonetheless, I appreciate the advice. It's definitely looking like a fight between Jack/Jeanne and the Casters in my mind.

It really depends on your preferences.
But from what I've seen you clearly have no need for an Archer.
Jokes aside: It's all quite a gamble, even though it's a GSSR.
I guess you have no need for the AoE-Sabers.
Lancer-Banner has two AoE (Karna, Artoria) and one ST with Enkidu. Since you have Tamamo, I think you don't have a special use for Enkidu (unless you really want them). Would be a 66,6 % chance.
I think the Rider-Banner would also more or less be a safe bet, since Quetz is really good (though Kintoki is already great) and Drake is the one to go for farming-purposes.
Though... It's also possible to get Medb... rather you don't.
Caster is another thing. 66,6 % chance to get a real support or another Sanzang. That's a bit... yeah. Guess it would be a huge letdown, if you get another Sanzang.
Assassin/Ruler-Banner is probably the one to go, since you will get either a good support or one of the best ST-Assassins.
Gramps would really be great to have, but I personnaly wouldn't expect to get him. I don't want to sound mean or anything. It's totally possible to get him. It's just ... Gacha can be a bitch.
And finally: Berserker
You can get Cu Alter, Nightingale or Vlad...
Since you already have a grailed Herc, I don't think you have much use for any of them.
Hope I could help in a way.

So far I like this best, giving me the actual breakdown and considering what I have and what I might need.
Caster is still a solid bet. Worst case scenario, I get Sanzang to NP 2. But I have a great chance of winning a serious support boon, which would probably help me develop more complex team compositions.
While I will like for Gramps, I hear what you're saying. When the time comes, I'll probably make the choice between Caster and Assassin+. Tamamo is a great Lancer, and Smalter can do a good enough job for AoE damage. I like all three Lancers on offer, but don't really *need* them, and can live without them just fine.

Ruler/assassin is the safest bet, clearly.
Jack is VERY different from KH, she's a star machine, and specialized in kill Female Bosses. Plus having a buff removal, who can't be resisted, for though bosses. There is no problem going after her. Or Jeanne.
Lancer...you have a Janta and TamamoShark, roll if you REALLY need a anti-divine one (Karna/Enkidu) or a spammer of NP (Lartoria). Or love them as chars. You will get something new, and that is good, but I dont think you even need any more lancers...
Caster has 1/3 chance of NP2 Xuangzang, 2/3 of giving you one extremely quality support (either the 2nd best support of the game, or best Arts Support/Staller)...I say risky, but no pain, no gain. Your choice.
Kinbro and Santalter are amazing Riders, specially if they are NP5. As good as Ozy and Quets are, maybe you can skip this. ps: Mebd is not so bad, she's just powercreeped by her own class freaks.
Archer, lolnope! Gilgamesh and Chloe and Archuria are there.
Saber, the ones in banner (Mordred, Altera, Altria) are all AOE, none are that impressive, and you do have 3 of them. Granted, Lily and Sumanai are weak as f, but...skip.
Berserker, Herc/ Tamamocat and Kiyo cover your bases, pay no mind on this.

Thanks for the breakdown. I think it'll most likely be a split decision between the safe bet (Jack/Jeanne) or the gamble (Caster). While I like the characters offered in Lancer, it's not really anything I need to have. I sorta feel the same way about a couple Berserkers (Cu Alter and Vlad), but Herc hasn't let me down yet, and I'm not really interested in risking Nightingale.
Wishing everyone luck on their rolls. Thanks again.
