GSSR ~ Risking Caster for Waver
Lots of these threads going around since it's coming up and I could use some advice as well since I keep going back and forth.
My situation is that I've been looking to get my own Waver since I started this game back in Summer so that I could use my own and be free to pick another damage servant for my support. I rolled (whaled) for the non-gssr caster class banner a couple months ago and about 800 quartz later I'd gotten every sinngle non-limited caster in the game, with dupes, except the elusive Waver himself and was pretty salty. The problem now is I'm sitting with a Tamamo and Sanzang already which means I have a 1/3 chance of pulling Waver in the gssr which seems super risky to me as I don't even use Tamamo or Sanzang now as it is so it would be gut wrenching to pull them.
I was thinking the extra banner was a super safe bet up until the Amakusa banner where Jack spooked me and then the Merlin banner where Jeanne spooked me... so there's no point in that banner anymore lol!
If I had to pick a backup to caster it would be a close tie between Lancer and Rider with an advantage to rider. I only have np1 Ozy and I wouldn't mind getting him np2, and Drake would fill a farming niche I can't exploit outside of Santa Rider but getting Quetz would be a letdown since I'm not a fan. Lancer I already have Karna at np2 and I don't use him too often although I do like him, but pulling Laltria would be great simply because I am fond of Altria servants. Enkidu would be meh because although I'm missing a strong ST Lancer, he's pretty meh in the damage department.
Sorry this is so long winded. I'd be surprised if anyone reads this but if you're bored and want to help me weight pros and cons be my guest!

I have full ST/AOE coverage with those classes. Not to mention the banner's themselves are pretty unappealing aside from maybe Cu Alter.

lol i'm in the same boat unfortunately, except no Tamamo either, although don't want. It really depends on what your gambling tolerance is, personally I'd try caster, however given you said you wanted waver so you could pick a damage dealing support, then perhaps you should just roll for that damage dealer instead? Cu Alter is never a bad choice..

I dont know man. Personally i'll roll Caster since i dont have any of the 3 and hope for Waver.Tho i dont mind other 2 because i like arts teams and Tamamo is a must for it and Xansang is i like her personally so i lose nothing.
In your case i literally have no clue. For Lancer you want 1/3 dont mind 1/3 and dont want 1/3
For Rider you like 2/3 but dont want 1/3
For Caster You really dont want 2/3 but want 1/3.
On paper rolling for rider is best for you but that depends on what you really want. If you REALLY want Waver then go but be prepared to not get him.
P.S: Enkidu isnt that bad trust me. High survability and High Star-gen. He may not have high ATK stats but crits make up for it along with survability.

You might well be right about Enkidu. I'm a buster guy so when I see Scathach doing 1m damage I get all sweaty lol! But I like crits. Might be something to consider.

Rider is the safest. Drake is a farming god, Ozy np 2 would be a sizable damage up on one of the strongest damage servants in the game until the release of Skadi, and Quetz is also among the strongest damage dealers until the release of Skadi. The disadvantage is Medb is literally the worst 5 star in the game. Seeing as you already have a Karna the Lancer banner isn't that great considering he is the best AOE Lancer in the game and you are rolling into Lancer Artoria and Enkidu.

Yeah shit I completely forgot about Medb! xD I have her already as well and I quickly replaced her as my main Rider when I pulled Ozy. The other points are quite fair, which is why I'm leaning towards rider.

How much is 30 quartz for a 33% chance of getting Waver compared to the 800 Quartz at 0.33% chance of getting him earlier? If I were you I'd roll the caster banner for sure.
It seems to me there is no option for you other than the caster banner. :-) In the Lancer banner there's a 33% chance of getting something you like, and in the rider banner it's perhaps a generous 50% since you wouldn't mind getting an Ozy dupe.
Weigh this against your statement "I wanted Waver from the very beginning" and you should have your answer :)

I have quite the opposite problem.
At first I was sure to roll on the Extra-Banner either for an NP5 Jack or finally my own Jeanne.
But before that I was extremely lucky and got Jeanne out of the Story Banner(!)
Then again, Jeanne spooked me during the Merlin-Banner - so NP2.
Now I'm rooting for the Caster-Banner either for Sanzang or Tamamo. Though I favor Sanzang.
Hopefully I won't pull Waver since I got him already during Jalter.
As for you: I think your best chance lies within the Rider-Banner. There you have a 50/50 chance of pulling one you want/like. (Though I don't really know how you'd feel about Medb. If you like her your chances are 75%)
On all other banners it would be 33% more or less.
