Overview
- A duel not with a Servant, but a supremely evil monster incarnation of Caster of Limbo.
- Masters are forced to field Musashi (lvl 85, all skills available) once more, although her ability to debuff cleanse is very useful here.
- Much like its other variants, this Massive Ghost always hits the entire party with all of its attacks.
- The gimmick of this fight revolves around debuffs once more, Each Hit by Caster of Limbo can randomly inflict either Stargen Down, NP Gain Down or Healing Received Down for 1 turn.
- In addition, Caster of Limbo can inflict an AoE 5-turn NP Gain Down/Defense Down via its main skill and use its AoE NP to reduce NP Gauges by 20%.
- In short, Charging NPs is a lot more difficult under its barrage of NP Gain reduction.
- On Break, Caster of Limbo inflicts a heavy 5-turn NP Damage Down on the team
- As its attack are AoE, Taunts are incredibly weak and ineffective.
- For Masters who will not adhere to the Knight-class bonus bond point condition, this boss fight is of medium difficulty. Masters who will stick to Knight-class Servants will have have a very difficult fight ahead.
Team Recommendations
- Naturally, (Single Target) Rider Servants are extremely effective at mowing down Caster of Limbo, especially as their class advantage greatly reduces incoming damage.
- Support Servants/Casters can also completely outsustain his damage, even if he applies his Healing Reduction debuffs. It does help to have NP Charging capability though.
- Due to all both the long-lasting and constant application of NP Gain Down debuffs, Debuff Cleansing, Debuff Immunity and Debuff Resistance, are all highly useful on turns with an ideal card draw to gain NP.
- Alternatively, Masters can deploy NP Gain buffs of their own to try and cancel out the debuffs.
- Starting NP Gauge CE and NP Charging are also highly effective at bypassing manual NP Charging.
- For Survival, Caster of Limbo does not hit particularly hard (1500-1800) per hit, unless he applies multiple Defense Down debuffs. As such, Flat Damage Reduction Defense buffs are highly effective, especially in combination with Healing and normal Defense buffs.
- Caster of Limbo's NP isn't as deadly as a Servant NP, and Master are able to recover from it with Healing. (teamwide) Evasion and Invincibility are still very effective.
- Musashi performs decently here, but Masters can still elect to Order Change her to the back if they intend to field Caster or Rider options here.
- By not using Order Change, Masters can field the Atlas Academy Uniform to help their sustain and cleanse his debuffs (ideally his NP Damage Down debuff as well).
- Medea Lily, Merlin, Mash, Waver, Jeanne, Hans, etc. are all very effective. Medea Lily in particular cleanses debuffs before she heals with her NP, and along with her NP Charing, she completely bypasses many of Caster of Limbo's mechanics.
- Riders with high damage and NP Charging can close out the fight very quickly, Kintoki (Rider), Ozymandias and Quetzalcoatl are extremely effective.
- For Masters who lack strong gacha Riders, Ishtar (Rider), Ushiwakamaru, and St. Georgios (very resistant) all make capable alternatives that can counter Caster of Limbo's various mechanics.
- Given the difficulty in charging NP Gauges and generating Critical Stars, CEs with passive Star Generation or Passive NP Gauge/turn, are great picks for supports to charge their NP in time regardless.
Bonus Bond Points Advice
- With no class advantage to draw on, Masters who adhere to the Knight class restriction are forced into a battle endurance against Caster of Limbo.
- Problem is, the Knight classes have extremely limited amount of Damage reduction and sustain-capability.
- Still, with Starting NP Gauge CEs and heavy offensive buffing, Masters can chunk a significant part of Caster of Limbo's HP bar before the debuffing really kicks in.
- In terms of sustain, consider the following:
- Nero Bride is ideal for keeping the strongest DPS alive with Healing and Defense Up
- Shiki (Saber), Altria (Archer), and Enkidu all have very powerful self-Healing abilities, with Shiki as a darkhorse option for teamwide cleansing.
- Parvati and Brynhild combine their healing with NP Charging and Critical Star Gathering respectively.
- David and Tristan are excellent for tanking Caster of Limbo's NP.
- Nero is quite effective for her last man standing here, as she can use her healing to outlast her allies and still be alive before she activates her Guts.
- Lastly, the forced Musashi is rather capable, as her high NP level allows her to deal huge chunk of damage.
- In the worst case scenario, bringing one of the top Riders to help will greatly reduce the difficulty.
