Overview
- A decently challenging face-off against Odysseus by his lonesome showing off his fancy power armor, complete with 3 HP bars totaling nearly 1 million HP.
- This encounter can be soloed with certain Servants (see video section).
- Odysseus Nullifies Class Advantage defensively from the start of battle, taking 1.0x from all classes and 0.5x from Caster class. He also has an unremovable ATK and Debuff Resist buff active.
- Critical Rate is also increased for Odysseus permanently from the start of battle, so be ready for his normal attacks to hurt!
- After 1st break, he gains a 2-hit Evade every turn, in exchange for losing his ability to ignore defensive class disadvantage temporarily.
- After 2nd break, Odysseus gains Defensive Class Advantage vs All Classes, resisting every Class (0.5x damage) except for Shielder (1.0x damage). At the same time, he gains an even greater ATK buff, while also becoming Debuff Immune. For this reason, his final HP bar is effectively equal to his first two HP bars combined.
Team Recommendations
- Damage dealers with Trait Bonus Damage tend to be most effective in this encounter, since Odysseus will gain defensive Class Advantage with his break effects during this battle. The actual Class of the attacker is generally flexible for this reason.
- Anti-Male options like Euryale, Orion, Tamamo Lancer, or Queen Medb are viable. The Berserker of El Dorado also has an Anti-Greek Male bonus.
- Do note that Assassins and Rulers still take less damage from Odysseus's attacks, however, and will still be helpful in the sense that they tend to last longer on the field. Otherwise, it may be useful to take a Taunt Servant to protect the damage dealer.
- Ignore Invincible is also extremely useful to have, to combat his 2-hit Evade every turn after 1st break, as well as his Invincibility skill that he periodically uses.
- Taunt Support as mentioned will help protect a damage dealer from Odysseus's frequent Critical hits. As seen in some videos, Taunt Support can be equipped with CEs such as 500-year Obsession, which inflicts NP Seal and can help stall for time if he can't be defeated quickly enough. This is particularly important since Odysseus's NP removes defensive buffs before damage, so the usual defensive options of Evade/Invincible are not effective, making any way to delay his NP a valuable option.
- Damage/NP Gauge Support is also extremely helpful, boosting damage output in a race against Odysseus's NP, which deals devastating damage and strips defensive buffs before damage. Depending on the damage dealer's card color of choice, Merlin, Tamamo, or Skadi are excellent options as usual, as is Waver for all occasions.
- Buff Removal Resist combined with Evade/Invincible can help if it comes down to having to survive a hit from Odysseus's NP. Note that Buff Removal Resist will need to be at 100% to guarantee survival.
