Introduction
W-W-Wait! We don't have an event now! Why are we around giving walkthroughs?
This isn't a walkthrough, it's the introduction of Servant Coins! The brand new mechanic that North America is receiving a year early!
Coins? Are they made of chocolate?
No, they're made of a Servant's soul.
Creepy!
Servant coins expand a lot of possibilities in the game, so read on if you need help!
What Coins are For
So, about these coins and all... what do we use them for?
For dinner, right?
Of course not! Coins have two usages. The first is to unlock "Append" skills.
Append? Like additional?
Sort of! But unlike your three skills (with excessively long cooldowns), these skills are passive. That means you don't have to click them to use them.
Hey! They're not that long!
*Cough* 10 turns *Cough*
Our first append skill is called "Extra Attack Boost." This skill will increase extra attack bonus by 30-50%.
Eh, more damage? Who needs that?
Did you hear what she said? It's performance not damage. That means more NP gain and stars too!
Exactly! This skill for most Servants is the second to level, and gives a bit more performance.
Except for solo Servants! If you're running that Hercales or Cu and not facing me, this should be your priority!
Each append skill once unlocked will need to be leveled just like your normal skills. Many involve the same mats, though some involve different and rarer mats to level.
Some even involve mats not in the game yet! Good luck with those!
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Let's not get lewd here!
There's nothing lewd about this magical energy! It's just gained by consuming coins!
By eating them?
Please remove me from this game.
This skill is arguably the strongest available, giving up to a 20% starting charge to the servant in every battle.
Tch, that's nothing. I do that too!
On an eternal cooldown.
This skill can be a gamechanger. 80% chargers like Xuanzang can instantly NP without support, and 60% Starting Gauge CEs can get to 100% with something like a Merlin 20% charge or only two of Waver's skills.
Or mine!
Ooh! Anti-Class? You mean I get to become a super-effective Servant against Archers?
Yes... and no.
The heck do you mean?
It's true, you gain extra damage against certain classes. But it caps at 30%, so this skill rarely comes into play.
Ooh, but what about Berserkers? Don't they get like a super-bonus since they're supereffective against anything!
Come again?
Berserkers don't get a damage up bonus. They instead get a Critical Rate Resistance against a specific class.
That's dumb!
This is usually the very last thing anyone spends coins on.
I should mention a few exceptions! Mysterious Heroine X gets damage against Sabers which stacks with her skills. Jekyll/Hyde gets damage against Riders as Hyde - the only Berserker with bonuses. And Stheno gets anti-rider bonus.
There are a few with benefits beyond that as well, such as every Servant with anti-Berserker damage (with a special shoutout to Abigail and Hokusai who get stacked and resistance). Any Servant with anti-Special class damage is great too, and all Special classes are good to level as well.
Super Grails? I'm already level 100, I shouldn't care.
With Servant Coins, you can grail even further! With a grail and coins you can grail all the way up to level 120.
Whoa! So I can be level 120 tomorrow?
Good luck with that. Leveling from 100-101 is almost 18 million XP. It's a marathon.
Grail Forging? When's this coming in?
We don't know. But eventually, you'll be able to exchange 2,000 coins of any type a month and receive a holy grail.
Whoa, so I shouldn't use any of my coins, right?
No, you should. Use them on Servants you use and love, but don't use them on your collections and rare usages.
How to Earn and Spend Coins
Wait, earning coins? You mean we're getting paid for giving these walkthroughs?
Only in Meliran's love and devotion.
Well... I did get grailed to 100 recently...
There are two ways to earn coins! Through summoning, and through bonds.
The first way is summoning. 5-star Servants like me will grant 90 coins each time you summon us. This does not matter if we are limited or not.
4-stars depend on availability. If we are story locked or only available with certain events, then they grant 50 coins per summon. If we are always available on every banner - or available to summon with friend points - then we grand 30 coins per summon.
A limited 3-star (namely Okada Izo and Mori Nagayoshi) or a story-locked one will grant 30 coins. All others grant 15. 2-stars grant 6 coins per summon, and 1-stars grant 2. The 0-star Servant is 50 coins per summon.
Keep in mind only 4-star and 5-star Servants will receive coins retroactively when the feature launches!
And event Servants only get a few coins in their events.
Ooh, is it time for bondage?
Since when were you into bondage?!
As you bond with a Servant, you will earn coins.
Regardless of rarity, you will earn 5 coins for each bond level from 1 to 6. That's a total of 30.
From 7 to 9, it's 10 a level. That's another total of 30.
Levels 10 to 15 are 20 a piece.
That is at most 180 from bond levels. Most Servants will be level 10, which is 80 coins.
Plan accordingly!
Earning coins is great, and knowing what they do is great, so now let's spend them!
This is why you're a broke goddess.
You don't mean that in a monetary sense!
Either way... Coins have the usages listed above.
Each append skill costs 120 coins. You may unlock them in any order you wish, but it is generally suggested to unlock the second skill first, then the first, and then the third. This is available on a special menu in enhancement.
Grails are 30 coins each, and unlock 2 levels. Upon using them the graph changes slightly, and again at level 120.
Overall, that's 660 coins to fully unlock a Servant's potential!
In general, a 5-star Servant you can unlock the 2nd skill just by summoning them and bonding with them to level 6. For anything more than that, you'll need bond grails or more than one copy of the Servant.
4-stars are kind of a dead end. To unlock the first two append skills, one needs a bond 10 Servant and NP4 (for limited Servants) or NP6 (for always available ones).
3-stars and below are easy. With the loads of Friend Points you have, simply summon over and over again. Even for a 1-star who take 330 summons to get max coins for, it's not going to take too long.
Coins are very similar to grails. They are nice, but not required. They are also bound to the specific Servant, so you can't use Euryale's coins to raise my skills, for instance.
And you're going to want to save some for Grail Forging!
So in other words, make sure to use all the coins you can on me!
