Rabbit's Reviews #268: Brynhild (4* Berserker)

Bryn is surprisingly bland as Summer Servants go. She’s the first SR AoE Buster ‘Zerker available in the gacha, which makes her a nice option to have available, and she hits for solid damage. She’s also pretty bulky, and her skillset as a whole is reasonably strong, but she also doesn’t do anything particularly unique or anything. She’s fine, but she’s not overly interesting.

Bryn has middling attack and low HP by SR Berserker standards, giving her stats a slightly offensive lean overall. She’s a triple-Buster Servant, so she’s not going to be doing much in the way of active star gen. Her Arts card is pretty solid NP-gain-wise, though again, her deck isn’t particularly conducive to getting NPs off without battery help. For passives she has a low level of Madness Enhancement for a small damage boost, as well as the lowest level of Divinity.

Bryn has a set of nice skills, and all three are worth leveling if you plan to use her actively. Recommended skill order is 2>3>1.

Bryn’s simplicity also means she’s relatively flexible. With her first two skills combined, she can pretty reliably get an NP off before she dies even without support help, which makes her a strong choice for a fourth-slot Servant, especially if you’re running a damage-dealer who happens to be Beloved. If one of your supports dies, Bryn can slot in, buff your primary damage-dealer, and then follow up with an NP of her own after a turn or two. Her tools also synergize nicely with Merlin himself, making her a solid point Servant for double-Merlin teams in AoE fights.

Starting NP CEs are Bryn’s best friend. Kaleid is generally going to be your best option, whether to ensure she gets an NP on turn 2 or to let her NP immediately with Merlin, but 50% charge CEs are also good options in general.

‘Zerkers are strong grail targets and Bryn is solid. If you like her and don’t have a better AoE option, she’s not a bad pick for grails.

Bryn is solid. She has three good skills and a nice NP, and she can hit good damage numbers with NP levels. She’s bulky enough to work well in sustained Buster teams, and she’s self-sufficient enough to slot into the backline. She may not be anything groundbreaking, but she’s well better than Chacha, who’s her only competition at the SR level, and she can be a good option for players who lack an SSR AoE Buster ‘Zerker.
