Why do some people have all the luck

Im so sorry this is just me being salty here and i just wanted to vent some frustrations. I have a friend irl and we both started fgo at the same time. Its been around 4 months since we started and hes sitting at 5 5* (hes f2p) meanwhile im sitting here with just one.... which i paid for (gssr).... I dont feel like i deserve that 5 star at all considering i shackled it down with money. Anyway long story short im just a really salty player and i know that there are people out there whose probably had it worse than me but the fact that you meet the dude thats got everything you want everyday face to face is very frustrating. And dont throw placebos at me i already posted a question on that before they didnt work.

And bro if you so happen to see this question and recognize its me. yes i am extremely jealous (no shit right?).

All I can say is: cheer up bro, we all have been there, your time will come! (also for me). Let's think this way: ask yourself some questions, do I really need those SSRs? There are many four stars with amazing capabilities (and dont forget that you got grails!!) Your friend is indeed lucky (which I really doubt he was THAT lucky though), but just dont take it on him, you guys have a same chance! And for many SSRs, he will also need a lot of mats in order to power them up (compared to your roster). Start reading and thinking about which servant is going to have a big impact on your current roster (and meta also) or servant that you are willing to have without any condition (then save for them). You will never know if oneday Ozy (or Cú, Tamamo...) will spook you and at that time, you will have more than enough mats to max out them immidiately!

It’s crazy. I swear you’re more likely to get SSRs when you’re not trying. I have 12 SSRs almost all of them came from f##k it draws I pulled with either free quartz or summon tickets

It’s pure RNG. The fact of the matter is that some people have honest-to-god unnatural luck

If it makes you feel better, a lot of us are salty. I’m still salty that my friend pulled Gilgamesh (the archer I’ve been rolling for since he first dropped)

Second this. It really is astonishing. Literally 5/7 of my SSRs came from yolos I did when I wasn't expecting to get anything and/or spooked when I was rolling for someone else. I only have 2 servants that I can genuinely say I rolled for, and one of those 2 cost me half my stockpile of quartz that I'd been saving since starting this game.

My first SSR was Altria (my all time favorite).
About 3 months after the game’s launch, I’m just sitting there with my last three quartz. I threw it at Story Gacha not expecting anything more than a CE

I spent every single ticket I had on the rashomon banner for Shuten and got a bunch of CEs, then right afterwards on the go west banner I had 4 tickets left and I'm thinking: "screw it, might as well try for some event CEs to help with farming since those are all I seem to be getting", and then Xuanzang came with the first ticket : /

Legit didn't even really want her at the time but definitely wasn't gonna complain, and now I like her a lot and am so glad I got her instead of shuten, funny how things work out lol

That was a great period for me! I got both from single pulls so roughly within the same month. The same thing happened with Minamoto-No-Raikou. I’ve never had that much luck in a single span of time ever. I probably used all of the luck I will ever have in that single month

Haha thats awesome! My luck was on and off for that period. After getting Xuanzang I was feeling a bit cocky and threw all my tickets at Scathach expecting to get her (gambler's fallacy, I know) and got nothing but 3* CEs. That scarred me so hard I didn't even bother rolling for Raikou (even though I really wanted her) but then got Ozy from the Camelot banner right afterwards. In all honesty my luck's been pretty phenomenal and I can only hope it stays that way.

Gilgamesh and Scathach... I can never seem to catch up with them. I’m always either not lucky enough or too broke to roll them

Yeah I love Ozy too. And Bryn's really great, you're hella lucky! Though it's funny that Archers are the predicament for you since my first SSR was an archer (Arjuna, but still). I missed Bryn and Gil's rate-ups, so I'm just gonna roll the new year gacha and hope for the best with Gil. Good luck with your rolls :)

That’s awesome! Arjuna’s Noble Phantasm has to be one of the coolest ones to see. Not to mention the whole “eternal rivalry with Karna” thing. Gilgamesh is qualified as an archer but Arjuna’s the real deal.

My class ratio is ridiculous. I summon Sabers and Berserkers at the drop of a hat but I can’t, for the life of me, summon Archers or Lancers. Right now, Emiya’s holding up at NP2 but his Arts deck is hell and he’s struggling with his Buster NP. I’d be completely and utterly screwed without Brynhild

I’m thinking about trying to go for Ishtar as my Archer but who knows

How exactly does one "not try"?

Well...I guess...just quite literally roll with it. I’ve never gone out of my way to get a particular servant with exception to Gilgamesh and Edmond Dantes and I got Dantes.
I fling whatever SQ or tickets I have at the banner and if it’s there- great, but if it’s not- back to working on other stuff

I’ve just never put much thought into my rolls and that seems to have worked so far haha

"Not try", as in, "not expect anything at all, or otherwise expecting to not get anything good." At least, that's usually what I mean when I say it. Usually by "try" I mean actually saving for and hoping to get X servant, as opposed to just rolling once or twice cos you feel like it.

The best and easiest way for beginners to get a SSR is to finish Fuyuki, roll for a SSR and reroll That way you already have that first SSR and you don't have to wait for months just to get that 1 SSR. I feel your pain as I have a friend who is blessed with SSR.

100% F2P, 3 months on game. RNG is truly random dude. Watch my tale:

In first month I constantly got a bunch of 3* assassins, and Hans was my only Caster. 0 sabers. The free 4* of the tutorial gacha n Fuyuki was Tamamocat, who is hard to use, as is any zerc.

Second month I got Carmilla, Fionn and Anne & Mary, all in one single roll...also, summon Euryale and NP3 her by FP gacha. And Kiritsugu on a single ticket.

Third month was insane: I rolled Ozy banner for Choco-bunny and Serenity, got Sabercelot as first Saber, and my first 5*...not the one on rate up, but EL-MELLOI.

Using tickets on Da Vinci+Singularities banner gave me NP2 Yuri Pirates (and it was NOT the Okeanos day of rate up). Also NP2 Caesar. And NP5 David.

Got baited by Camelot 2 banner since the only class I have not a single gold was Archer, used 4 tickets got Lancuria (she's just good for farming vs archers and Zercs, mind you)...

On Summer, used only tickets, hoping for the CEs, got just the 4* one...and TamamoLancer and Summer Mor. The ones I was less interested of the banner (but hey, 5* is 5*, and she's way more usefull than Lartoria).

One day luck will shine towards you, even if just once. Good spook DO happen, just like the horrid rolls of 1 4* CE and a bunch of 3*s hings you already have on NP5/MLB...

Just don't fall in the temptation of whalling every month. Overabuse of whalling is bad civilization, gambling where you lost money even if you "win".

Also, there is a lot of 4 and 3* who are excellent, specially with the correct CE (Proto-Cu with some passive star gen CE can destroy lots of bosses with big HP bars, Euryale and Robin are fucking nukes with Projection, Carmilla with Gandr is very self sufficient, you can fix the shitty dmg of Medea's NP spam with Heavens Feel or Angel's Song, Herc is best backliner ever...).

Well, I been playing 232 days and only have 3 five star servant. I'm also F2p kinda since I paid for the gurantee Gacha, I don't even want to discuss about the servant I got from the paid Gacha. At least it not Medb. I got Brynhild on whatever month her banner released date, and it took me that long to get my third 5 star from the Onigashima event. I got Jeanne during December.

I should had listened to the person to not paid for tha guarantee Gacha, to this day forth I regret wasting $40. Also, I bit saltly I didn't get Irabaki instead I got Raikou. Rolled the saber war banner cause I want Salter but got Nero instead. My luck will be always stuck at a D, I never expect to get anything good. I sadly don't have any good CE to make Medea damage better, I'm stuck with using Dragon Kin. I doubt Black Grail is a good choice for her, I tried it once. I have Tamamo as support to deal with the health loss.

I'm pretty sure my Prisma Causeway event Gacha roll gonna suck, no 5 star event CE.

Ironically enough, I didn’t use the GSSR banner (mostly due to bills at the time) but I felt as though the Knight banner was a (mostly) safe gamble

Cavalry...I got Nightingale. If I chose the knight class knowing my luck I'll get Np 2 Jeanne instead of a new servant. It actually 232 days I been playing this game. Wow, it almost one year and looking at my roster of servant it unimpressive. I guess it could be worse playing 1 year with no SR or SRR servant.

I got you. Nightingale’s not too bad though. I ended up getting her while rolling for Cu Alter. Sadly, she takes a backseat to Vlad III, Raikou, and Frankenstein in terms of my berserkers. I’m sure your servants are great. At the very least, Jeanne is a crazy tank. I’m the opposite. I’m blown away at how lucky I got. My luck has been EX so far and I’m really hoping it doesn’t fail me when Merlin comes along

I wish I got Waver or Tamamo instead of Nightingale. I have a feeling when I roll the Prisma Causeway banner, it gonna be awful. I might end up not getting any event CE. Reason: Pulling Raikou through 1 summon ticket and get her to np 2 due to another summon ticket

I'm pretty sure my luck on the Onigashima when from A back to a D or E.
