I plan on doing the summon but can't choose which one to do.
The summons are: Saber (Altoria, Mordred, Altera), Archer (Arjuna, Nikola Tesla, Orion), Lancer (Enkidu, Artoria(lancer), Karna), Rider (Quetzalcoatl, Francis Drake, Ozymandias, Medb), Caster (Xuanzang, Tanamo no Mae, Zhuge Liang), Assassin + Extra (Jeanne D'arc, Jack the ripper) and Berserker (Nightingale, Vlad III, Cu Chulainn Alter)
My opinions of the summons:
Saber: big no no
Archer: Big no no
Lancer: I really like each of these characters even though some are not as good
Rider: Servants except Medb are good but I don't want to risk getting Medb
Caster: would probably be the best from a gameplay standpoint but I'm just going for servants I like.
Berserker: Vlad III and Cu Alter are cool, Nightingale is meh
Assassin + Extra: Probably the one I'm going for. Jack is supreme loli and best star generator in the game and Jeanne d'arc is waifu.
I currently have 0 5* so I want my first to be one I really like.
My best servant in each class:
Saber: Lancelot
Archer: Probably Arash
Lancer: Jaguar Warrior
Rider: Santa Alter
Caster: Hans
Berserker: Ibaraki-Douji
Assassin: Carmilia (also got Emiya)
What are your thoughts? I know Lancelot (saber) pairs really nicely with crits and Jeanne is waifu so Assassin + Extra is my top pick with lancer being a close second.
Probably the jackjeanne banner if the casters aren't your thing. You should probably raise robin cu ushiwakamaru and medea. All other classes are fine. The only thing is that jack is better than carmilla, but carmilla is still strong enough as a dps. The lancer banner should be your second choice as the selection is actually quite goode.
Based on what you said you need an archer. Arash is for one off farming, he is not meant to be your go to archer. But since you seem to be anti archer, lets see... I'd say lancer or Caster, but that's me. I prefer people that are useful and if they look cool even better. But if you're just interested in who looks cool roll for who you want. You can technically beat the game with almost anyone, its just more of a pain without decent servants.
I finished Babylonia with strictly Saberlot, mash and a support Waver. It's mainly just finding cool servants and doing events for me now.
I gotcha. I go for the 1 aoe and 1 st approach (since i have one of each now), but the point is to enjoy the game so do what you prefer. I will say it does help to have at least one of each, even for events. Or at least rider/assassin/caster, a lot of events have them as enemies. Though a berserker would work just as well for that. Either way, I hope you get someone you want!
Well I'm on the same boat as you more or less, most of my servants are arts/crit oriented (Saberlot, Kerry and Chloe to name a few).
Saberlot performs well on his own so I don't think you really need a stars generator for him, a support with fragment of 2030 slapped on top is more than enough.
Personally I'm going for the caster banner, even if I get lucky with the dick wizard Tamamo or Waver would be good aditions to my art team.
Also as Haagen said, even if Jack is among the best assassins Carmilla is very strong and can fill your assassin role with ease. I would try to fill in the gaps before aiming for Jack if I were you.

I see. I'm actually mainly trying to get Jeanne from the Assassin + Extra but Jack would be great as well.
Someone previously said in the worst case scenario of each banner, which banner would you be happiest with and likewise I like all of the lancer options, though they may not be as game changing as a Waver. So to you I ask; which banner would you be happiest rolling if you were to summon the 5 star servant you want the least?
Well the Riders are all very very good even with medb in it. Medb fill a niche and she does it fairly fine after her strenghten and interlude so honestly the reason is simply how strong ozy and quetz are which make them generally just a better option than medb even if there is nothing wrong with medb. She is just compared to insanely strong riders. You don't have to try for riders but honestly after the casters rider is prolly just the second best one in this in my opinion. Both quetz and ozy are insanely strong riders and rider being one of the best dps class as it have natural high star weight really make servant like quetz shine even if she have a star weight gain skill. Drake is still one of the better farm servant out there and prolly won't go away anytime soon as her first and 3rd skill are just that good.
