In my opinion with merlin you don't need a quick/crit team.
With him you can create a good buster/crit team.
If you still want a quick team maybe an Archer can help you with stars generation

Ok, so I updated my servants list and am looking to make a solid quick/crit team. I have most of the ingredients I would need, but my question is what would be the ideal team comp with what I have and what if anything should I roll for next? I was thinking Gil/Ishtar and/or Scathatch Lancer, but any advice would be great. Thanks.

I have about 200 quarts saved and 20+ tickets. My deal with Merlin is that I feel like rolling for him will be a bit of a waste since pretty much everyone else is gonna whale for him anyway. I would almost rather put my eggs into something else...also for the guaranteed banner I was thinking caster would best suit me since I'm a little limited on solid support, but keep the ideas flowing.
So, I'm going to try to do what others did for me not too long ago.
...
Jack - Solid star generator, and crit master (Definitely frontline material)
Kintoki - A secondary DPS with spam potential (Could act as second to Jack to make a spamming quick/crit team) Note: His rider class will make him soak up a good chunk of stars but, with Jack that's no problem.
Next in the setup depends on the enemy:
Carmilla - With Jack, absolutely destroys female enemies and as a quick servant her only disadvantage would be her buster NP with the other two.
Lancelot or Atlanta: Really for farming with their AOE. But, Lancelot deals great damage outside his NP but, his Buster deck would be a bit of a detriment to Quick teams, but, you star generation's on point either way. Atlanta's first skill is great for boosting quick performance for a turn and is a great support. But, she deals subpar damage overall. They both also have awful NP gain (Less so with their skills but even then it's pretty bad.
Cu should be reserved for solos since he's extremely self-sufficient, a quick team set up won't really help - he's the last man standing type of servant overall.
Cleo is a great assassin farmer but, I don't believe her role as a star generator would help your set up, she's a built-in survivor with a Quick/Buster Deck, whose damage is a bit odd. But, overall with Jack and Kintoki, she should fit in nicely and help clear out waves.
Finally, Marie Antoinette (Rider) is like Cu a survivor type servant, for your needs she's a pretty bad star generator and won't really help with damage, her class would also soak up most the stars. However, in a stall team, she could actually be paired with Cu (Maybe) since they both have a three-hit protection - her Np is also really great for healing the party. She's a self-sufficient survivor, so much like Cu, she probably wouldn't fit.
Honestly, you have enough of an attack line up to be fine, Scathatch would be a cherry on top but, overall you can make do without her. Honestly, go for a Jack/Kintoki/Support set up, you have a great star/NP generation and damage already with those two, so surviving would be all you need.
This is what I was looking for. I know the whole buster/crit thing is king, but I really like the constant hit count/star gen/ grit you get with the quick teams (also seeing as Jack was my sole want for quite a while and got her this time around).
So I guess my best bet would be to throw some quarts at trying to get scat just to really put the icing on it since Brynhilda doesn't really hold a candle to get ST damage anyway.
Also, am I on point with trying to go for a caster/support on the New Years banner? Seems like the best ides given how much offense my lineup has, at least to me anyway.
Not compared to Scathatch I don't think...that divine killer skill of hers makes boss killing a complete breeze, something Bryn doesn't have.
Well. Indeed Shishou can do great damage by her NP.
But Bryn can also pour huge damage to her Loved boss, using NP-x-B-e critical brave chain.
They are focusing on different DMG direction.
Also, honestly speaking, Shishou for Quick team? you probably dont know how her Quick card is not good.
I understand that Scat's drawback is her gain, but I feel like thats not a problem with the amount of crit damage getting thrown around. I like Bryn a lot (have her bond 10 and use her often) but the big NP damage she has is still pretty situational no?
Actually, Dr. WC is right, Scat's quick cards aren't that great, her Buster cards are what boost her NP most of the time. Though both of them are solid 5 stars, Scath's anti-Divine/Undead is what boosts her damage since a good chunk of bosses have one of those traits, her skillset I'd argue is also better...if you can get the boost from her first skill (Damn RNG), though Bryn is good against Servant enemies, I'd say Scat's damage boost and stun effect pushes her above Bryn.
So I feel like she's at least worth throwing a few tix at since she fits well into the overall comp.
What about Gil or Ishtar other than just to have either one of them? I do lack a solid AOE Archer so it also may be worth throwing a few tickets at just to fill the roster. Ive had some pretty solid luck compared to what Ive read so Im not against throwing 10-15 single pulls at a banner just to see what happens.
Gil is certainly a behemoth when it comes to the archer scene, strong overall stats, good hits/NP gain - solid skills (His Collector skill noticeably improves with an interlude/strengthening quest) and a great AOE attack that decimates servant enemies. He's certainly something, however, that last bit is worth noting, his NP is still pretty strong but, overall if you're not fighting servants and are just farming an AOE beserker like Lancelot fits the bill well.
Ishtar is - at least from what I can tell a pretty strong Archer in her own right, a stronger Charisma buff, a strong NP gain with benefits (Like Drake), and a 50% ATK boost with delay. Her NP isn't as strong at first glance but, its buster boost is quite something. She's strong don't get me wrong but, her 50% buff kind of forces you to count the cards in the deck since if you don't you could miss a great attack time though it is on a 4-Turn cooldown.
Personally, I'd pick Gil due to waves of Servants being not too uncommon in the future, but, they're both solid archers.
Though it's worth noting that, they have the same 300% ATK modifier on regular enemies, the amount of ATK buffs Ishtar can boost herself with makes her devastating when fighting waves consisting of non-servant enemies. SO for a general farmer, point to Ishtar.
I agree, I personally have a strong Arts line up but, the quick crit team has always been a lot of fun for me to use. Also congrats on getting Jack, she'll take you far. Personally, I still feel like Scat would only really make a good thing better for you in terms of boss killer potential.
Quick teams really falter in the support line up, so getting a support caster should put you over the top (Praise be Skadi).
Also, you have an Lv. 90 Cu, you have earned my eternal respect.
Hahaha he's got more kills under his belt than probably everyone else combined! My rock for sure.
Thumbs up for ya ! Chu has save my ass since more than a years ago and mine is lvl 90 and soon i will raise his skill to 10/10/10.
His soloing power though, it's just legendary.
Worth every grail...no regrets at all Hahahaha
The rest get saved for Semiramis a year from now
I have Gilgamesh and pretty much i can tell he make me so lazy not to use another Archers.
My simple team, if there's servants except tough/durable lancers i just put Gil immediately + Hans and Leonidas/Helena or friends Waver.
Vs random saber/berserker enemies, he also still can deal huge damage.
He wreck things so hard at the past Nerofest Grandfinal, i even freaking reset FGO app because he just obliterate almost entire servants there while laughing like crazy.
Nerofest Grandfinals is lvl 90++ node difficulty, so you can imagine how powerful he is.
The result is the fight was really not challenging if i using Gilgamesh.
So in the end, i use my art semi-stall team to clear the grandfinal by not using any Gil.
In the Training Ground nor non-hard events i rarely use him now, i rather give other servants a chance to show up and building their Bond level.
Gilgamesh is a really greedy servant honestly, what kind of servant that can take 3 roles on the same person.
He is just a level below Merlin and Waver, in terms of gamplay and until now still one of the best archer.
He sit at max Bond and i need some QP to max his 2nd and 3rd skill.
Same cases with using friends Tesla, using my Caesar + Helena + Leonidas/D'eon + Hans.
Similiar result just happened like Dejavu while i'm using him at Nerofest, he is more or less Gilgamesh twins in terms of gamplay.
Comparison by Memes :
- Gilgamesh is a freaking Gilgamesh.
- Ishtar is female Gilgamesh with black hair.
- Tesla is Gilgamesh with lightning.
That...is so accurate it hurts.
King of Heroes indeed.
Queen? of Heroes indeed.
King of Lightning indeed.
A pair of Gil and Ozy can make a hard laughing party.
Raise the speakers volume up, and you'll laughing with them too 🤣
Do you know that Cu Alter can solo Nero Fest Grand Finals? It's funny how easy people can clear that quest using underrated stuff like Ibaraki/Nero or silver stuff too.
Same story for Part 1 Last Boss, people say Heracles is broken for soloing it...but Astolfo can solo that boss too.
Next Nero Fest is when shit gets real, there's a quest with a Da Vinci and some monsters on it. I have never seen a Solo or a silver clear of that one, even Honako Green had to use an NP4 Gilgamesh and Jeanne to clear it.
