Should I roll for Jalter or Merlin?
Basically that, Should I roll for Jalter later this month or wait till December for Merlin (Currently got 21 summon tickets and 251 SQ, but I'll probably be able to get 4 more summon tickets from this event and 15 more from when the shop restocks)?

It is simple. Support always > DPS. And Merlin is not only a support for Buster servants. He is worked like combination of Hans+Nightingale+David. Dual Merlin with 2030 will make you fly. Off course dual Merlin can boost Jalter by times.

Merlin. everyone's gonna have merlin and Jalter on their friends support and double merlin is always better than a Jalter.

It all depends of what you really want..
I mean you will obviously have a friend with a merlin 10/10/10 and it's the same case for Jalter.
However if you want to be the more efficient (or broken) i would suggest to roll for merlin 'cuz 2 merlin is always better than one.

The biggest reason to go for Merlin is because he can make *all* of your buster waifus powerful. So, unless Jalter is your supreme waifu, I'd go for Merlin. I also think he's better from a gameplay perspective as well. In a hard difficulty situation, it's usually better to bring two supports over two damage dealers, so you're better off stocking your account with more supports over damage dealers.

Definitely Merlin
As others have said most if your friend list will have jalter and merlin but no one is going to use a double jalter since it isnt efficient however that can't be said about double merlin especially in hard content
Now putting aside the gameplay thing , i am assuming your f2p so you better save more quartz and have higher chances of getting merlin than of getting jalter now and you can use what is left to try an get alot of amazing servants that come not to long after merlin that can be better than jalter in some situations ( gilgamish - musashi - ishtar - king hasan ... )

I only own Jalter but I would still say Merlin just because Merlin can support so many other buster Servant other than jalter. But in terms of waifu, I choose jalter

Why people say to roll Jalter because Jalter is Waifu? GAPIntoTheGame didnt say anything that Jalter is his Waifu.
On the other hand, do you dare to let Waifu struggling in battlefield, not giving her decent support to make her shinning? I dont, even though Jalter is not my Waifu I will still try my best to make her excellent in battle.
Merlin just make your game easier. Off course for FTP it is not easy to roll 2 SSRs in 3 months, but If Jalter is not your "only" waifu which you should spend to roll, why Jalter > Merlin?
