So I have Gil and Waver, do I still need to scout for Merlin?
He's not really needed, but he's just broken. He just does better in many things one thing is his NP which is spammable heals, charges everyone's NP, gives crit stars + best buster boost (3 TURNS Mana burst, Increase max HP and 100% crit boost) AKA best support for Gil hands down.

He’s always going to be useful, that’s the bottom line. He is primarily best in buster/Buster Crit rolls thanks to his kit and NP, and with the right damage dealers that will become the most powerful team comp thanks to Merlin. I’d argue in some builds, Waver can be more useful, but him and Merlin will always be the best two. He’ll provide Gil with all the stars and crit buffs he will need. And if you ran Merlin, Waver and Gil, the amount of damage on Gil’s busters will be crazy.
You obviously don’t need him as no servant is ever a necessity with the games content, but if you want him you won’t regret having him. But I’m sure he’ll be all over your friends list if you’d rather save your SQs for other servants and he’s still a bit of a ways of, probably December or January
Waver is usually good enough for most teams, having Merlin just further boosts a buster/crit team.
