Rolling for Xuanzang

So how many are planning on getting her? Considering she's one of the few offensive caster with a ST NP i'm not sure if i should roll now or wait for the anniversary paid gacha as she could be extremely useful in next events.

I dont think, all that many will roll for her.
While she is one of the few offensive Casters in the game, She ties right with Illya in many aspects.
Illya has the same card deck, the same NP Damage Multiplier, but has better skills and NP in general.
Remember: We have enough Supportcasters and Xuanzang only offensiveskill is her first skill, which provides only a 20% NP damage Buff. Her NP also does not enhance any damage on Xuanzang.
Illya on the other Hand has a 50% Buster Increase on her first Skill and a Buster Increase between 20% and 80% on her NP.
The damagepotential from Illya is a lot (A LOT) higher that Xuanzangs.
Addionally, Illya comes very soon to NA and is quite popular. So my guess is, that the place for a offensive single target Caster will be Illya.

Xuanzang Sanzang can launch her NP back-to-back in 2 turns with the right setup (usually with a NP - A - A Chain or Waver, as you bring an offensive caster to take down assassins and Waver is a Caster also) and after her Interlude, her NP damage multiplier is better than Illya.

Assuming that all skills are at maximum level, Xuanzang Sanzang can launch her NP twice (After the first NP is launched, use her 1st skill to charge 80% of her NP bar and Waver will do the rest) with the second NP buffed with her own + 20%.

In two turns, Illya can launch her NP once and with her first skill activated, it is a +70%.

Personally, I would roll for Xuanzang Sanzang as I need an Offensive ST Caster and between a busty monk and a loli mahou shojo, my choice is pretty easy.

Illya has an interlude that brings here NP damage multiplier up to 800% too you know. Illya's NP w/ max skills does 50k Sanzang's does 37.7k but is much more spamable so overall both are good Illya probably having an edge until breaks are added to health bars but after that Sanzang becomes much better. Also worth noting Illya can hit an impressive 98.8k if you chain it after double waver NP due to having that buster increase on overcharge but this becomes rather meaningless with the break system.

Well in that case, Xuan needs 2 NPs, to top Illyas one NP. And now the following:
-Illya also gets a Interlude, where she gets a again the same damagemultiplier as Xuanzang, but the Buster buff also gets enhanced
- Illyas Bustercard also Profits a lot from the Buster Buffs
Xuanzangs NP Damage buff only lasts for 1 turn, so one NP has no damagemultipliers on it.

Well the Busty Monk and a Loli Mahou Shojo thing is up to everyone, but Illya has more damage. Ofc, I agree with the statement, that Xuanzangs NP is better for Enemys with multiple Healthbars, since you can deal huge chunks of damage in different turns, but as a Nuke, Illya gets the job done better.

I am going to roll for her since I love her but that aside I need a 5* star caster for my own desires and I want a ST NP caster

I have her on JP, she is pretty good. She is similar to Medea, but she actually does damage and that's something. Well, people would argue Illya is better and I can see their points, but, Illya can't safely spam her NP due to her NP demerits, that's actually a pretty big weakness for offensive casters who should be able to reliably spam their NPs. Personally, I say that Sheba is a better offensive caster anyway, but she is a 4* and it's a looooong way for her to come, and my opinion about her might be biased.

Well, whether I'll roll for her or no, I won't. I already have her on JP, so, I won't go for her on NA, that'll be boring.
