Proto Arthur gameplay?

I’m definitely rolling for Arthur when he comes in March but wondering how good his gameplay is.

I see a lot of potential for burst turns against large enemies (mana burst, niche atk up, np damage up on overcharge) and think he’ll have pretty good skill/np uptime with Merlin + Tamamo on the field, but wondering if that’s really enough to make him a better pick over an ST nuker (Robin, Herc, Jalter, etc.) when facing large enemies.

Specifically, his skill set is super vanilla (like a damage-focused Mordred with a lot less utility) and his noble phantasm being AOE worries me.

Edit: Just for clarification, I already have a 10/6/10 Mordred, so I don't need an AOE SSR Saber. But the large enemies niche is unique and I want to know if it's actually *useful.*

use him if hes your husbando, while someone is a husbando it doesn't matter if there are better servant options, at least for me :>

It really seems like his NP should be ST. I think that would’ve made a huge difference in his impact. His skills are built for it and if you’re doing damage to large enemies as your niche, most likely your only going to be facing one. Perhaps he would’ve been a bit to imbalanced if that were the case, but since he is an AOE, he will certainly be less useful IMO. Not a bad servant, but will be a pass for me.

Gameplaywise, he is pretty bad. The skills were pretty awful and have a meaningless special attack. However, he do have a 20 NP charge which makes him somewhat useful in farming since only Modred have a NP charge. If u cant wait for the Altria buff that made him the top tier AOE Saber around next year, u can pick him. He is usable at least for now.

He's basically a better Artoria in pretty much every way, even after her buff later down the line. Obviously he won't be used in place of ST damage from a Musashi or Sigurd but he's pretty much top tier for AOE and farming.

...Plus he's cute! ;)

I mean yeah, he's top-tier husbando material ESPECIALLY once that costume gets released next year.

I don't have/plan to roll for Seiba, but I do have Mordred and she's been amazing so far. So I probably won't use him in hard content because her kit is better for that anyway (debuff clear, bigger NP charge, slightly bulkier) but I'd like to know if his anti-large enemy niche ever comes in handy for, say, farming events or certain pesky materials (gallstones?) down the line.

He seems lackluster to me, maybe even bad. Both steroids are single turn, and the one vs large is very situational. I can't think offhand of a large Lancer-class, which would be the only one where he would shine vs. a class-advantaged servant, and even then he's hampered by the AoE NP. At best, he'd probably be ok as a farming servant--forget about the large aspect of the third skill and just consider it an NP battery.
