NA server SQ pricing

TL;DR: SQ is more expensive in my country than in the US so I'm salty and want to know why.

Just wondering if anyone knew the reason why SQ is priced differently for different countries. I've thought about possible reasons, like the forex rate. This doesn't seem to add up though based on my calculations. I've also considered other possibilities, but I'd just like to confirm the reason. If there is no available information on this, is there any way (for people not living in America) to find out, ie, contact with a fgo NA staff member?

It's based on the exchange rate of either USD or Yen to whatever currency you use however these numbers are frequently not updated very often to keep prices stable so you don't buy SQ one day only to find them substantially cheaper the next as a result they may have estimated where the exchange rate is going to be in x period of time to determine the pricing.

At least this would be the standard reason for such things and I see no reason it wouldn't apply to FGO. Contacting staff would almost certainly not get an answer though as companies usually like to keep this kind of thing hidden unless a large fan outcry occurs also support staff frequently just won't be in the loop for this kind of thing, doesn't hurt to try though?

Ah, fair enough. I wasn't quite convinced since the exchange rate didn't quite line up, but that makes sense. Thanks!

While I have not tried this method for myself so I can't confirm if it works or not. You could use a VPN and make a NA account for Itunes or Google play in order to bypass the extra charges. Let me know if you need further assistance.

I can confirm this myself. Before the NA version of FGO got expanded into more countries including here in the Philippines officially, I was able to both download the game through iTunes and even make purchases through the use of US iTunes Gift Cards bought online. The prices were exactly the US one.

If I were to do this, it would mean I would need to create a separate account without the ability to transfer any servants over? If this is the case I think I'll hold off. I don't think It'd be worth it for me to manage another account. But thanks for the tip!

I think you got the wrong idea about this. Your fate grand order account isn't connected to a iTunes or Google play account so you wouldn't need to make a new account for the purchase. What fate grand order does is check from what country your iTunes or Google play account was created on and take the rates from it when you are about to make a purchase. If you were to use a VPN and create a American iTunes or Google play account, then fate grand order would check your account once again and take the rates from America.

Oh okay, thanks for that. Last question though, just to be safe - is there any real risk that DW would terminate/block my account for doing this?

I can't confirm this but I think they don't really care about it since they are still getting money. From what I have been reading none of the people who used this method got banned or terminated.

Okay thanks! I've tried using TurboVPN for this, and I'm not sure if I've done it right, but it doesn't seem to be working. Could you please walk me through how to do it and recommend a good VPN (free pls, I'm poor ;_;)

Sure, do you have a discord or anything? It will be a lot easier for me to guide you.

It seems like you have your settings on not to receive friend requests or messages from unknown people.
