According to Wikia, the answer is no. But I haven't personally tried it yet. (I JUST started the game like a week ago, also from Oz).

NA to AUS Account transfer
As an Australian, I've been playing using the NA .APK for a few months now, but seeing as how AUS (finally lmao) got its own release I was wondering if an account transfer from the NA to AUS APK is possible. Anybody tried doing this yet?

AFAIK, Australia uses the NA version as well, so technically you are playing the same version (there's no need to transfer).
