i just found out that there are lock locations in the game like chicago that can only be opened when you finished the Washington area. are there any locations like this and how to unlock them?
I haven't been able to find any lists, but they should all be listed in their respective story chapter guides on any website. As far as I know, there is one in Camelot, and bountiful sea in Okeanos is another one. Archipelago in Okeanos also has a second free quest, but I'm not sure what the criteria are to unlock it.
I think as long as you finish the story all locked areas will be available. I've completed all available story and I don't have any locked areas.
They're not locked, so much as they are "Hidden". You'll have to complete a Free Quest to get them to show, like the example mentioned in the question, completing the Washington node Free Quest will reveal a final node, Chicago. Another exmaple is in London, Hyde Park. I think it was revealed when I finished the Soho node Free Quest.
