Been playing for almost 4 months and not a single 5 star has grace me with a pull. I am also a free player so it probably plays a factor but to be honest, its not really a bad thing. The game itself can be beaten with 3 stars servants which is one thing I love about this game way more than any other gacha games. 5 Stars just really make it easier to play. I literally went through most of Camelot with 3 stars and below servants aside from my Marie and Li Shuwen which are 4 stars. Course, I had 5 star lvl support but I assume that is pretty much the case with the majority of people.

Another way to think of it is when you finally pull a 5 star, it will be one of the happiest moments of your life XD You could also do some google surveys that give points and eventually gift cards. Do enough you might have the free cash to do the guaranteed 5 star that might happen later this year which I refuse to do on F2P reasons and also I want to get that feel of pulling my first 5 star from the other gachas.

Bad luck I think not pretty rare since it's a gacha game and in the least it isn't like the old ones that prevent you from pulling really good things with free currencies.
Well just wait around and continue saving quartz or just rely on GSSR.
For the stories let's see I have a friend who always does this superstitious things just to get SSRs and gets nothing and One who has A+ plus luck that fails on banners with characters he doesn't like, but has incredible luck for things he he doesnt

It is 100% luck based. I started playing FGO in September of last year and I didn't get my first SSR until December. After that I didn't see even an SR until this June when I got Raikou. And since then I have pulled Ozzy and two 4 stars. It is entirely luck based. It has nothing to do with being a free to play its just the odds of pulling a 5 star are low and you just need that bit of luck. Maybe try the catalyst thing or a ritual of some sort lol

Haha it can take awhile to get your first 5*, I started like a week after launch and didn't get one till I had played for seven months, so it's really just luck, don't feel too bad, eventually you'll get a few

Based on what I've heard personally, it's not at all uncommon for people not to get an SSR within a few months of playing. It does have to do with being free to play, since you get less rolls, so less chance to try for an SSR. But at the end of the day, RNG rules all. I'd argue people who spend loads of money and only get an SSR after thousands of quartz are the real unlucky ones. It's very rare, of course, but it does happen.

And with your friend list, it may be because most people that you've added will have good servants? Idk, unless a lot of people have been sending you requests (which, if you don't have any SSRs, I'd think is unlikely), your list would mostly be the people you've sent requests to? So unless you purposefully send requests to people with bad supports, of course everyone on your friend list will have strong supports lol. Seems a bit obvious and goes without saying, but I have no other explanation.

It’s all just luck my dude, I’ve been playing since October and didn’t get my first SSR until late January. Didn’t get a second one until a couple months later than that, now though my luck has been amazing and I’ve gotten 5 SSRs in the span of the past month. I’m also F2P I should mention. Hope this inspires you for what it’s worth, also I recommend trying to do singles if you haven’t tried that, literary only one of my 7 SSRs was from a multi.

After spending 200 quartz the statistical chance of having a 5* servant is just around 50%, so it's basically like the chance of flipping a coin whether you have it or not. I guess that should be the amount of quartz you can actually spend in the first three months without buying any quartz, perhaps a few more if you've farmed all the free and story quests already.

That said I wouldn't even consider it bad luck if you don't have one yet. It's normal luck.

All the "gacha tricks" going around the web are bull. It's all math and chance based. Try to imagine how they'd write such a thing into their code and you'll realize it cannot be true.

I got my first ssr after 5 months from the guaranteed gacha. That was at level 115 or so...

I'm a free player too. I've known fgo for about one year (or two?) and just played for a month. I really don't know my luck rank is kinda weird or something. After spending 160 sq and 15 tickets I finnally got my lovely favorite servant Nero. I was like, my luck rank really sucks. But you know what, I've just got both Tamamo Summer and Sanzang in one ten time roll few days ago. Maybe it's really all because of luck.

I got Altria from a single pull from Story Gacha. I’d given up until she dropped.

Then I got Francis Drake the same way

Then Brynhild

And so on until I had 40 4* or higher servants. Most of my best summons came from using F2P Saint Quartz. Your luck’ll catch up with you eventually and you’ll get something great

For me it's just pure honest bad luck. No matter how many Saint Quartz, tickets, nothing. Tried to get Achillies and Jeanne, NOTHING. The only way to get the 5⭐ is to pay for the Saint Quartz's. Drop rate is a lie we all tell ourselves.
