So far, have run it 3x getting an average raw drop of 18 fruitcakes in 7.3 stacks, and 16 shortcakes in 5. Given what I have available, I can only run with +2/+1 with both, so I've only netted an average of 32 and 21 of these. Even stockings are not a lot better than the previous quest, netting on average 66 (vs. 60 from power snow).
So, 1 full AP charge gets me less than 100 of each cake? Seems pointless to burn apples on such a terrible return. At best, and I very much doubt it would be a viable lineup, I could get +3 in both, but that would still just net me like 40/30 per run. The # of dropped stacks is too low for even a great bonus to mean much, unlike on powder snow where the +6 acting on 10 dropped stacks meant a lot.
Plus, I'm just waiting for the stars to align and having the berserkers gang up and crit one of my frontline dead... And my backline has 2 really weak bonus servants that have very little survival chance.
Yeah to be honest, while i needed more of the basic cakes to clear what i wanted from shop and was barely able to do it with natural ap regen, I'm definitely going to have to use apples to clear what i want from the other shops cause the node we got today really is rather trash. I only have both jalter for boosts and a +3 fruitcake/shortcake support for +4/+1 depending on which i want to farm and that will take me around 30-35 runs to get all the stuff i need/want.
I'd be happy to just get 50. As it stands, my average is just under 30. If I wanted to buy out the shop, using 2 days of natural regen in addition, it would take me 24 apples to do the 92 runs I'd need.

My main complaint with it is the RNG involved in which drop drops the most. I wish this was separated into 2 different nodes, each with a set cake resource that always dropped at least x stacks. As it stands, some runs I can get 10+ stacks of one cake (the cake I need) and the next run it's the other cake I don't have my bonuses set up for.
I'm really just focusing the gold cakes at this point since they buy the best items and I have a small bonus which allows the silver cakes to also slowly trickle in. I'm still burning through silver apples which is nice at least. Hoping to only dip into the golds when the stocking node comes out in the couple days.
In my 4 runs so far, I've had ranges of 4-8 and 3-9 for the two types. However, adding the drops together, I've had 13x3 and one at 11. So, I think some of the mobs drop one or the other, but never both. So that's why the individual numbers vary so much.
Totally agree. I'm still farming cheesecakes and I've had a run where only shortcakes dropped and one with no cakes.
The other thing I don't really like about the structure is that unlike others where it's simple to get the welfare servant, and then you can grind as much as you want for the NP5 and ascension mats, this time the servant isn't permanent until you get NP5 and ascension 4 (well, unless you skip some of the mats and reset early). So you'll either have a max'ed servant, or you won't have one at all.
