Investing in Altera vs. Saber Lancelot?

I have a level 70 1/1/6 Altera and a level 60 4/1/4 Saberlot, and I'm trying to decide which one is more deserving of my limited EXP embers and skill materials. Saberlot has much better skills and I appreciate his ST NP, but Altera's Attack stat is just disgusting. Her post-Interlude NP can still hit pretty hard even if it is AoE, especially given her NP and Attack buffs.

For context, I have some but not all of the pieces that help Lancelot shine: Waver (albeit horrifically underleveled/underskilled), Hans, Fragment of 2030, Emiya Assassin and MLB Be Elegant if I really want to drown in stars. But, I don't have Tamamo (though I plan to roll for her on her next rate up) or Another Ending. I typically run him with Leisure Stroll, which gives him a decent Arts boost and ensures he gets just about every single star, but I'm starting to think it might be suboptimal. I have MLB Hot Springs and MLB Projection, but no Formalcraft.

Sounds like you've decided already. I'd choose saberlot too really and would work on altera afterwards. Not like she's going anywhere and given the fact that Babylonia, which is the next major content, is a few months away, you have time to work on both. So focus on saberlot for now (though I will say his struggle isn't the embers but rather those 72 knight medals and 36 gears you'll eventually need to 10/10/10 him and he would be 10/10/10ed) and level altera passively when you don't need to spend time working on saberlot anymore or on other servants. Oh. And grail him if you can. Hope this was helpful.

Also get that waver to ascension 3 at least xD. His whole utility is based on those 3 skills so he might as well have all of em

Yeah, the medals struggle is real...I also need 30 to max ascend my Archer Artoria :(. It's a shame the Prillya event doesn't have them in the shop, but at least I can get some from the missions. And even if Saberlot doesn't require that many embers (I'll probably only raise him to 70, since it doesn't look like he grows much from 70 to 80), I still have my level 60 Ozy and level 14 (barf) Waver to ascend...so every ember is precious.

Assuming I don't get Another Ending or Formalcraft anytime soon, what CE would you recommend I use? I'll probably use him in a comp of Waver w/Fragment of 2030 + Hans / Tamamo (if I roll her) / Jeanne (if it's a grindy/tough fight).

Hot springs is fine really. Atumbra is better but only by 5% without the 3 extra stars. Really though with saberlot you only need 25-30 stars up at any given time. Ik Hans seems appealing to use due to innocent monster but u compare him to waver and waver provides a 3 turn 50% buff to crit damage instead on hans' 1 while also providing that 3 turn defensive buff and damage cut and (once u ascend 3 times) offensive attack buff. In fact waver and tamamo with any good arts dps (and you have 2 of the best in Squirtle and saberlot) is a viable team even excluding class advantage.
You're problem is really a good one to have xD. Those are 3 of the top tier dps in the game. Given that you need to develop those two as well as saberlot (as well as waver) I'd just abandon Altera for awhile. She's good but can't create the synergy or exhibit the independence those 3 monsters can.

As for comp, if you develop your waver you can just use a friend's support Tamamo to complete the comp. If you can use those two, both completely outclass Hans. Between waver's np that drains a charge, waver's defense ups which mitigate a good amount of damage, and tamamo's np that both heals and reduces skill CDs you really shouldn't ever need Jeanne

Yeah, I kinda forgot that SurMo required medals to fully ascend, so I didn't buy any during the summer event. And I just got to E Pluribus Unum, so I can't fully ascend her for a while, which really sucks because I wanted to work her into my lineup.
