I’m guessing this will lean heavily in favor of Gil. I have both myself, so with what I’ve played of both, I’m probably gonna be on the outs by picking Ishtar.
She has about 900 more HP points and about 25 less attack points, so pretty close there. The extra HP does help. Her Charisma skill is only 1% lower than Gil’s but has the added bonus of up to 20% Crit damage for the whole team. She can also charge her NP up to 30% more than Gil can. While her invulnerability does have a 20% chance to fail, she does at least have the defensive measure.
Personally I don’t think it’s really all that hard to time her Gem Burst. That can give her a 1 turn Buster boost of up to 50% on a 3 turn cool down! Add that with her NPs 20% buster buff at NP1 and that can give you a very impressive NPBB combo. And if you have her Crit buff active with it that’s just icing on the cake. While Gil can boost his star absorption, they both already have equal absorption base rates that are high thanks to the archer class, so Ishtar can gather stats rather well on her own as well.
Enuma Elish’s bonus damage to nearly all servants is certainly hard to ignore and he does have the higher hit counts. For me personally, Ishtar works better in more teams. She has some added support with her Crit buff and the team doesn’t have to be built around her for her to be fully impactful. I feel when I’m using Gil I’m always building the team around him as the primary servant in the team. His kit is fully selfish and while I’ve stated that Ish’s invul does have a chance to fail, at least she has the defensive measure. With Gil in a longer fight, I have no choice but bring someone in who can compensate for lack of a survival skill.
That’s my vote and reasoning at least! I’m hoping some people will agree but I’m not holding my breath lol! Gil is quite impressive for sure! Looking forward to hearing from others though for sure! Thanks!
