Helena vs Edison

So I recently just got Edison and Helena. Since they're both relatively new on NA, I'm not sure which of the two is the better servant. I already have Waver but an AoE/farming caster is always welcomed..
I usually switch between Herc, Altera, Liz (lancer), Emiya and Nero depending on what is needed. Waver is pretty much always there. So any suggestions or help on who would fit my roster would be much appreciated.

Edison was considered one of the worst 4 star servants since he offers very little to the team due to his limited niche. Once he received his strengthening quest which added a 3 turn ATK debuff on his NP on top of his NP/Skill stun however, he became a lot more useful though that won't be for a while now.

Helena can do a lot of things from charge her team's np gauge, provide a party wide buff to all card types, generate stars and deal decent damage with her NP (should RNG be in your favor with her 2nd skill) but is held back by her skills having large cooldowns despite having merely decent values.

Tamamo no Mae is the best servant since she can help charge their NP gauge and reduce cooldowns.

Helena is a rare farming team support. Pretty sure all her skills is geared toward farming. Party wide np charge, enabling everyone who has kaleidoscope to immediately use their np, self (missable) np damage up for her AoE np and universal party wide card type effectiveness up to support everyone's np. Pretty good if I may say so. In other team setups, her long cooldown is a big hindrance, and honestly, I dare to say that the 1* and 2* casters perform better than her.

Edison is a more specialized support. His biggest niche is his third skill (which isn't available yet AFAIK) which gives a servant free +200% overcharge when using their np (similar to Demonic Bodhisattva CE). He is perfect for servants who have useful overcharge effects or servants whose np damage scales with overcharge (Robin, Arash, etc.). On a top of that, later on, his np provides attack debuff, which is always useful for stall team. Though, right now he has none of those niches, so he is pretty useless.

If a farming servant is what you want, Helena.
Also try levelling Kiyohime up, she is one of the best farming servants out there.

Oh? Is Kiyohime really that good for farming? I actually have her at NP 5 and never thought of leveling her up :P
I'll take your advice in this case as I'm pretty much in desperate need of more farming servants.

Calling Kiyohime "one of the best" is a bit of an exaggeration, but she is good. She has an AOE NP, does 1.5x damage because she's a berzerker, she is easy to NP5.

Generally, efficient farming amounts to getting strong AOE NP servants and letting them fire their NP instantly so you kill each wave in a single turn. So any strong AOE servant is good for farming (there are plenty of these), any support who can charge other servants NPs is a good farming support (hello support waver), and any CE that lets you start with NP charge is a good farming CE (this is why everyone loves k-scope)

Notice that Helena has both AOE NP and a skill that charges NP...

Not an exaggeration.
She is a berserker, you can use her in any maps save for Foreigner infested ones which we don't have. She doesn't have much trouble filling her np with or without np starting CE since her np gain is high (while the so called 'best AoE berserker' Lancelot actually suffers from having a very bad np gain that he has troubles filling it even with Kaleidoscope). Chances are you have her at np5, her np will be stronger than other higher star AoE berserkers when this is the case, leaving only Darius for competition in the np strength department. Right now on NA, we don't have Darius' np interlude or Raikou yet, so, she is a strong candidate for the actual strongest AoE berserker. Not an exaggeration to say that she is one of the best.

Thank you both for your answers. So Edison is pretty much obsolete in the current state... I think it's clear that I'm going with Helena for now given what you guys said.
