You should definitely save them for Solomon. The damage increase during the final singularity from bond 9 to 10 is only 10%, and I don't think his bond CE will be that useful. You'd be better served getting the additional drops, and like you said he'll hit bond 10 during your farming anyway.
From what the guide said you don't really need him at max bond unless you're trying to 1 turn kill him, and that's not really necessary (imo). I would wait so you can farm more drops. Especially, as you said, he'll max bond during the event. It doesn't make sense to miss out on drops to max bond someone for the event that gives the drops you're missing out on.
