So going by the first part of the battle, I can expect the battle proper to be a real uphill battle. Anyone got any tips for how I can get through it?

Bring Cavalries or Extra Class, avoid using Knight Class ( do it if you want a hard challenge ! ).
Use high or max bonded servants.

If you're too lazy or want to finish the Solomon Singularity easily ? Use a max bonded Hercules equipped with his Bond CE or max bond Chu Alter.

Make sure you stop his Turn 1 super-buff invincibility-piercing NP. NP seal works, but Skill Seal works even better since it prevents the insta NP charge entirely.

No joke, I brought out Level 1, never-before-used Benkei in the front line for his Skill Seal (plus CasGil for debuff success rate).

Don't use offensive NPs for the first three turns, since he takes nearly no damage from them until Turn 4.

Single-target Cavalry DPS work best. Ozy (also has NP seal on his NP, which can be an option to stop the Turn 1 NP if your Ozy has Kaleidoscope) or Jack (Crit Rate down, a great skill since Goetia's crit attack only has one hit while his multi-hit normal attack will fill your NP gauge faster) are good options.

There’s guides if you look for them, including this website. What I did was I let my first set die intentionally, equipping ces that had effects when they died. I debuffed with Carmilla, and buffed my Ozy and order changed him to the back. Then when first wave died, I brought out my still buffed Ozy with Waver and Merlin. Supports are almost necessary for this mission.

I beat him using ushi with "with one strike" ce, alexander and support waver, my ushi can deal up 480k damage with fully buffed hasoutobi

If you have the origin bullet CE, then use it. especially for the first goetia fight and the final one(special attack bonus is different from class advantage and so origin bullet will be effective)
