Gacha CE's necessary for farming this event?

In order to lower the salt load, I roll predominantly for event CE's in order to help me with shop clearing. In the previous halloween rerun event, it wasn't necessary to get these CE's, because the shop was easily clear-able without them. However, I don't know if that's the case for this event as well, so I'm asking you guys if you know.
