Future bond expansion

I read that JP server recently got a bond levels expansion beyond 10, and I wanted to ask, does it retroactively count the extra bond points gained before then? For example, if I currently have a Servant at bond 10 and continue using them until the expansion comes, will they then start accumulating additional points starting from as much as they have now, or more?
In short, are bond points that go beyond level 10 essentially wasted until we get the expansion, or will they be counted?
