So I just started the new quest and Dantes is talking about some First Tower? But I have no idea what that could be referring to.
First Tower refers to the first hall where we fight with Phantom of the Opera
I don't think lapucelle is correct, Avenger (Edmond Dantes) asks "Did you find that First Tower fun?" and then welcomes us to the "Second Tower," seemingly referring to the Chateau d'if. And all of that is before you even talk about the trials or go to fight Phantom.
I looked back in the event logs, and I think it might be referring to a previous event, the Garden of Sinners crossover event originally took place shortly before the original run of the Vengeful Tower. In the Garden of Sinners event you spent a lot of time clearing restless spirits out of a "haunted" apartment building.
That would also explain the line "It may not be like the First Tower, but a large number of dead souls have congregated here as well."
I think it actually refers to the original event as the "first tower", while the rerun is the second one
I agree with kiirnodel. I’m pretty sure first tower was the apartment building in the Garden of Sinners event. I think he says that same line during the first run of this event, which was after the Garden of Sinners first run and, which is where he first shows up.
First tower refers to KnK Garden of Sinner tower. It’s the apartment where you had to fight a lot of ghosts.
Dantes first appeared in that event and he was the antagonist who orchestrated the ghost gatherings. But they did not reveal his identity. The only hint given then was his last line “Wait and Hope.”
Thanks for the clarification, guys. Also glad to know that I haven't missed the rerun for the Garden of Sinners event. It really does irk me to miss the event cutscenes (like Nero Fest, since it has no rerun at all and now will forever be missing from my record).
