Unfortunately, no, the upcoming half year is going to be brutal in regards to Secret Gems.
On my JP account at the time we are now, I was just in my 2nd half year of my account - which is generally the stage where you start investing deeply into quite a lot of Servants as opposed to getting a basic foundation of all Servants leveled and prepared.
Secret Gems remain few and far between, sometimes doled out via quest rewards. Until then, grinding out the dailies was the only way. On JP apples were a bit more common (more maintenance errors) - so spending them on grinding gems wasn't the end of the world.
This will changes with the advent of Nero Fest 3 in October. Secret gems are in the lotto - followed by another Christmas lotto in December full of Secret Gems as well.
But wait, there's more! The Da Vinci event gets rerun as well, and the KnK event follows soon after. Both event have Secret Gems in their shop.
Really, at that point, you will have accumulated quite a lot! But until that period, the going is tough. Especially if you intend to roll for Alter Ego Servants, who love to eat double your gem supply.
