I was doing a run with one of my friend's Billy as support. I noticed that he was able to crit even though I had no critical stars. (I also checked his CE which only increased crit strength). So my question is, does this have to do with a servant's natural star weight (I have no idea what star weight is but seen it mentioned a lot)?

or was it luck? I guess I'm trying to understand if there are servants who have a higher chance of critting without critical stars and if so, what determines it? It seemed like he was critting without stars more often than my own servants which led me to think of this question.

Sorry that this got wordy!

Star weight is star gather rate. Meaning the higher it is the higher chance they pull stars like how riders get everything while berserkers get only a few.
From what I heard crit stars only increase your chances of critting, and when he crits while you have no stars then I think you honestly just got lucky. Couldn't confirm though...
